I was on a panel about social media at the Hispanic Business Conference in Orlando on Friday and this is what I wore! I wanted something professional (knee length skirt, collared shirt) and yet fashion forward (I have a fashion business, so something different/trendy is a must!), and the neutral colors matched the mood of the rainy weather. It was a great event and one highlight was getting to meet one of my favorite local news anchors - Ybeth Bruzual (last photo)! I'm loving this type of bold colorblocked pieces lately, and was psyched to score this 100% silk shirt for cheap. Are you a fan of the colorblocking trend?

I'm loving the silk shirt, especially with these adorable shoes. They go so well together. I'm a huge fan of colorblocked clothes especially in these colors. The skirt makes it feel business apropriate. The only thing I'm not totally loving is the purse, because it doesn't quite seem to match. I think a quilted chain bag would go a lot better with the vibe of this look.
ReplyDeleteJ! I love what you do, but this outfit is a miss for me. Love the shirt, love the shoes, just not with the blue skirt.... :/
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are amazing with the top...perfect pair!

I love color blocking! I'm a huge fan of bold pops of color in an outfit, but as I get closer to entering the professional world, I enjoy neutrals more and more. I plan on adding more neutrals with poppy wardrobe to be trendy and mature.
ReplyDeleteI love all your Moda shirts from MJR sales...but every time I go on I can't seem to find any similar. Tips? I have purchased from them before, but I'm dying for one of these great silk blouses!
ReplyDeleteIt's hit or miss - you have to catch it on a day with new arrivals. Also, the search buttons on the left top are your best friend. I like to view Women's Clothing, then pick a category like "Tops." Then I pick Size Type - "Regular" , so that it takes out the Plus Size. This should only leave you about 300 shirts to look at. Don't use the search box with keywords. Hope this helps!
ReplyDeleteLove this shirt J!! YOu look awesome as always! Hope you are having a wonderful day!

Hey J! Cute outfit, as always!
ReplyDeleteHeading to Florida in a week. I know you're the shopping insider… any cute boutiques near the Pinellas Park or Tampa area? My best friend and I are huge shoppers and like grabbing things our friends can't find at home!
Thanks!!
Cute outfit. My question is, are open toed shoes ok for business meetings? I've heard some people say yes, others say no.

You look fab... I am loving with that blue skirt & sandals.
ReplyDelete'Just l.o.v.e. how you dressed~~~(with neutral colors and blue)~~~to match *the mood* of the rainy WEATHER on Friday, J.!!
ReplyDeleteOn Mondays, I often like to wear either............ soft neutrals/pastels............ (n.o.n.-electric) blues............ and/or (n.o.n.-hot) pinks. After the weekend~~~(and with everyone's "usual mood" on Mondays, haha!!)~~~I think my wearing those particular outfit colors just makes it a WHOLE lot easier (for me, I've found) to "deal" with others; and vice-versa!!
First of all, love the blog. I often want to look into buying the pieces that you feature, but everytime I click on the item via link, the prices rarely match up. Are these prices that you list the total after coupons? And if so, can you write a blog post on couponing? Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteTessa, which item(s) are you referring to? Many of the links I list are similar items, not the same as mine, so that would explain the price difference. And if it is the same item, then the price I'm listing is the price I PAID, not the current selling price. Here's a link to my post where I explain my best retail savings secrets: http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2011/04/todays-everyday-fashion-secrets-of.html Also, every month I give you a rundown of everything I bought and explain exactly how I got that deal (which coupon, etc.). You can see all of those budget posts archived under my Table Of Contents.
ReplyDeleteI REALLY love that shirt. Hoping to find something very similar online. Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how perfect the shirt and shoes match! So cute! The shoes could be my absolute favorite out of your closet!
ReplyDeleteYvette is my favorite too! She says her name so cool. ;) we are in Melbourne!
ReplyDeleteI love
ReplyDeletethis look! Your shoes are beautiful! I love them, but I don't think I would be
