Earlier this week I went on my first airboat ride and this is what I wore! I'm often asked for outfit ideas for amusement parks, and something along these lines is what I recommend. Shorts and a tank couldn't be more comfortable in the Florida heat, but the unique colors make it fun, as well as the addition of the turquoise necklace and colorful bracelets. I loved scoping out gators on the airboat, and later that day when the temperatures dropped I threw on the cardigan above to run errands. What do you wear for amusement parks and other outdoor activities?
Cardigan: Banana Republic, $14 (similar, similar)
Shirt: Forever 21, $8 (similar, similar)
Shorts: Candie's c/o Kohl's, $25
Necklace: Topshop, $20
Shoes: Diba/Nordstrom Rack, $40 (similar, similar)
Bracelets: My Stella & Dot website $59, c/o Sarah Aghili rainbow $2.50, cross $7.50, feather $10.50, beads $14.50

You are soo cute! Love the
ReplyDeleteBracelets! We love to wear zippered cloths for outdoor events!
I couldn't agree more! Tanks and Shorts are the best outfits to stay cool when its hot outside.

You look adorable and I love those colors together!
ReplyDeleteIf I knew I was going to get wet, I'd wear garments that would dry quickly (nylon/spandex, modal or similar) vs staying soggy (cotton denim). Plastic jelly sandals vs leather. Jazzing it up with the bracelets is a great idea!
cute cute cute!!! I really like the colors, makes me feel summery :) I usually like to wear something casual and comfortable for all day trips to theme parks and such. A couple weeks ago I toured a navy battleship with my family. I knew it was going to be HOT appx 90 degrees and no A.C. When considering my outfit I did think of you and thought..."mmm what would J. wear" will have to send you a pic once I download them...black shorts, blue and white stripped shirt and cute sandals with some bling. Tomorrow for my first day at the new job I will be wearing my black pencil skirt, same top, red peep toe heel, and red skinny belt- YAY!!! just changing it up like you would for event/location
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit! Shorts & tanks/tees are fail proof for going to amusement parks! I love using a scarf to use as an accessory to my outfit, a wrap when it gets cold or even a blanket to sit on. Love the color combo...I posted the same combo on my blog today.

I guess I'd wear much the same but in Scotland the temp doesn't usually allow for shorts so they be subbed for jeans! LOVE that last shot of you, so much fun!x

I like this casual look. When doing something outdoors, I usually go with a pair of cute and comfy jeans and a pretty tank as well. I always bring a cardigan in case it cools down. The only thing different is that I normally opt for a cute pair of sneakers instead of sandals.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I like your look it feels summery :-)
cute! I love the colors
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of getting wet, I've never been on an airboat and wasn't expecting to get wet at all. I sat in the front corner, and got splashed in the face just a little bit! Not too shabby. :-)
ReplyDeleteI take after my dad and have very dark/olive skin naturally! That top picture was taken a few hours after being on an airboat for an hour, so my skin was definitely glowing from being outside. :-)
ReplyDeleteGood to know for when I go air boating! Which will be... not very soon, but maybe someday!
ReplyDeleteThose sandals are really cute! And this is coming from someone who is normally not a fan of strappy footwear (:
ReplyDeleteHot! Love the side profile pic! Im into shorts, a thin t shirt and boys baseball hats right now...sumny and hot in Colorado!
ReplyDeleteDid I miss it...? Where are the shoes from?? They are awesome!
ReplyDeleteWhoopsie, forgot to add that to the post - just added it for ya! :-)
ReplyDeleteyellow top and mint shorts are great combination :)

Just curious- where did you go on the airboat tour. My husband & I are taking our kids to Ft. Lauderdale next month and are planning an airboat tour but don't know which one to go with.
ReplyDeleteApril, if you are in Ft. Lauderdale you will probably want to stick to the Everglades! I live in Orlando, so I went to Boggy Creek, which is right by the Orlando Airport. Hope this helps!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a lot of fun & looking stylish while doing so is always a plus! The colors are a fresh way to interpret basics for a day out!
ReplyDeleteLove love LOVE this color combo! Pale yellows and minty blues are my absolute favorites this season! However, I would have never thought to wear them together. Looks great!
ReplyDeletelove the color combo! i've always wanted to go on an airboat ride!!
