Today's Everyday Fashion: Print Mixing
If you look closely, you can see ivory polka dots on my skirt - meaning I'm rocking not two, but three different prints in this outfit! I love this look inspired by Jenna Lyons and think it's right on-trend with the print mixing we are seeing everywhere and just somehow "works." I would definitely wear this to a fashion event, or even to nice brunch. What is your print limit? Would you rock three at one time?

I also love your outfit in Tallahassee!! Really in love with your jacket!
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit. Not digging the inspiration photo though. I just can't get into mixing grey and brown. Every time I see it, it turns me off. Oh no... maybe that means I'm getting old.....
ReplyDeleteGreat combination, I like the animal print trench with the pleated skirt!
ReplyDeleteJenna can do no wrong in my eyes - love how you interpreted her look here...it's SO cute!
ReplyDeleteHow do you feel about wearing a dark leopard print in the spring and/or summer?
ReplyDeleteDenise, these shoes are actually a bit lighter than they appear in the photo, but I will definitely be wearing them this spring/summer!
ReplyDeleteYour take on the inspiration photo is nice. I'd probably put my print limit at 2 and wear nude shoes with this outfit, but you're definitely pulling off the three print look!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Erin about the heels. I'd go with nude because theres already so much going on.
ReplyDeleteyou are looking lovely...loved your trench coat and skirt !

Love,
Love your skirt. I need to find a black one to pair with my work shirt for sure.

Love, love, love this outfit! I really like the boldness of the leopard and the red, contrasting with the demure skirt. I think 2 prints at a time is my limit, so I'd probably pair this with a neutral shoe.
ReplyDeleteI'm a HUGE fan of mixing prints...I think 3 is probably the max before you start looking like you got dressed in the dark. I think the yellow clutch is my favorite part of this outfit...it's adorable!

I'm not sure I have a print limit. I'm not super savvy with print mixing yet, but I'm getting better all the time!

I am obsessed with animal print trenches! The one from Chico's is my favorite and the cuff looks fabulous! And what a great cause you are participating in! Thank you for your support!
ReplyDeleteI like this combination. I'm a big fan of both polka dots and leopard print. I think my limit is 2 prints at a time. Like others said, I'd probably pair the print skirt and trench with a solid color pump. (I agree with kim, I like your outfit better than the inspiration.)
ReplyDeleteLOVE this look J!
ReplyDeleteI love this! I would totally wear three prints at once, if they blended nicely the way yours do here.
ReplyDeleteyour blog is absolutely brilliant! the message is great - that you can look great and dress freely without pouring out your savings. as a college student this has been my mantra haha. i'm so happy to have discovered you and your flirty sense of style today! i hope to see more of your posts and get to know each other better across the blogosphere!

Angie, thank you so much! Great meeting you and welcome to the blog! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm really not liking the inspiration look, but I love what you've done with it to make it your own. I am especially in love with that skirt - I have been looking for one like that, except longer for the longest time and just can't find the right one. Anyway, I do love what you've done with this look. Great job! - Jessica.
ReplyDeleteYour outfit looks so much better than the inspiration photo! I love it and I love your pleated skirt! http://www.fashionatabargain.blogspot.com/
