The occasion: a family get-together on a Sunday afternoon. Why I wore it: like a little kid after Christmas, I couldn't wait to wear some of my new clothes! My striped shirt and orange skirt are a nautical match made in heaven, so I paired them together with a gold chain (also nautical). I think many different shoes would go great with this outfit, but I chose nude wedges because they are comfy, and also dressed down enough for a casual occasion! Where would you wear this outfit?

I don't think ANYONE can go wrong in this outfit. Stripes with a solid always compliment each other. You look amazing and so chic. :) Loves it.
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely a winner! That striped shirt is awesome..I have also been looking for the perfect one for a while. I've accumulated so many *wrong* ones that if I added them up I could have splurged on exactly what I wanted!

I think we're twinsies today. My husband took pics of me this morning for tomorrow's post and I'm in an orange skirt and blue striped shirt. I also paired it with my (old) Banana Republic brocade waistcoast that I bought years ago and keep reinventing.

ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! I have a similar striped shirt like that and I love how you paired it with such a serious pop of color! I think you could totally dress it up or down in terms of the shoes but I love those nude wedges with it because they don't fight with anything and really extend your leg! Super cute!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Holly! I think my hair girl (Annette at In Style in Baldwin Park) is a genius! :-)

ReplyDeleteMallory @ Faith. Fashion. Beauty.
I'm a huge fan of stripes with anything and nautical anything, so I love this look on those principles alone, but I really like the bright orange pop of color - that skirt is perfect for you!
ReplyDeleteA great classic outfit, J. I love nautical style. You look great as always!
ReplyDeletereally cool outfit!
ReplyDeleteWow! Great combination!
ReplyDeleteThis is just the best outfit ever, casual but VERY sharp looking. Love that orange skirt (I'm so happy orange is a big colour this year!!) with the striped top and the neutal shoes are perfect. They make your legs look even longer than they are and let the skirt be the blast of colour. Love this!
ReplyDeleteAw this is a great pic! I love the stripes with a boatneck. So preppy/old school. <3
ReplyDeleteI think I'd wear your *gorgeous* outfit............ (with my sunglasses "at-the-ready" in my hair, as you've done, which actually ADDS to the nautical "feel"!!)............ to a casual lunch in a nearby Lakeside Restaurant............ (i.e., if I were actually GOING, that is, haha)!!
ReplyDeleteYour striking outfit is just SO nautical............ including the classic row of #6 cute little BUTTONS at the bottom of each of your sleeves............ ( like the #3 cute, white-ENAMEL cuff-buttons of this Clearance ivory/navy striped cardigan, too:
http://www.wintersilks.com/viewproduct.aspx?BRANCH=5~44~&ProductDisplayID=2790&dept=Clearance-Ladies+Sweaters&prod=silk+cotton+striped+cardigan )!!
The way you've styled your nautical outfit to be close-to-the-body; sleek; and unfussy, with "subdued" accessories, simply assures that you'll have............ "S.M.O.O.T.H. Sailin' All The Way," too, you know, J.!!
Nice wedges, lovely outift!
