Abbey Road Studios |
My inspiration |
Today's outfit is probably my favorite from the entire vacation! I felt so comfortable running around London in this outfit. On the day I wore this, we made a quick trip to Abbey Road (the studios + the exact location where the famous album cover was shot), and then headed to Notting Hill to check out a huge outdoor shopping market known as Portobello Road. On Saturdays, they jam-pack this road with outdoor vendors. Mostly vintage clothing, some new clothing, tons of accessories, fresh food from the grill (lunch was delish), and fresh produce. My favorite spot was definitely the army supply store (picture below). I was trying on authentic army jackets left and right (they were so amazing!) but unfortunately they were all men's, and way too big on me. Overall I loved Portobello Road though. If you are ever in London on a Saturday afternoon, then I highly recommend checking it out!

Love the jacket!
ReplyDeleteWhen I try to wear jackets like this I always feel like I'm on my way to work, but you make it look so cute and stylish. Love the little pin.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering what kind of camera you use because all your photos are really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI really love this look and your camel blazer - it is such a great piece!
ReplyDeleteYour trip sounds like so much fun - i'm so jealous!
Army goods are so good things to buy. looking for to buy shoes . can you bring a pair for me?
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite outfit of your trip, too!
ReplyDeleteI hate to nitpick, but the word "infamous" actually means "of evil reputation." I'm not sure if you think The Beatles are of the devil, but maybe another word would be better. :)
Not nitpicking, I'm glad you told me because apparently I am totally confused... can't figure out what word I must have been thinking of, but changed it to famous for now. :-)
ReplyDeleteHolly, for this trip we were using a Rebel T2i. Not my camera unfortunately but I agree that a lot of the photos came out great!
ReplyDeleteThe title of this post reminds me of the Disney movie "Bedknobs and Broomsticks." They go to Portobello Road and sing about it (of course), so I immediately got the song stuck in my head when I saw this! Love the red jeans - I need to get myself a pair of those!
ReplyDeleteI was going to write that this is my favourite outfit of yours too !
ReplyDeleteI think the shirt you chose really pulled it together for me !
-Voted for you :-)
I LOVE this outfit! It is casual yet chic and pulled together - perfect for traveling and sight-seeing. That wall that you're standing in front of is sooooo awesome - looks like a bunch of books? I love it!

I went to a fashion show here in Austin last night and my date for the evening (my very fashionable friend Amza) wore a blazer with pocket square, white shirt and red pants. He looked awesome!! I filed it in my brain to try sometime. Now you wearing red pants....... the universe is telling me to get some bright colored pants ASAP!!
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely adorable!
ReplyDeleteyour pictures are making me so incredibly jealous- i lived in notting hill, just a street away from portobello road and market, while studying abroad in london! wasn't the whole city just amazing?? i'm loving this tour of europe you're giving us and of course you look so fabulous in that chic outfit ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is so fun Ally that you got to live there! I would definitely live in London. Such a cool city!
ReplyDeleteThat outfit sounds amazing!! I am totally obsessed with red pants this fall. I bought these last winter and didn't really wear them but now I'm so glad I snatched them up. Can't wait to see your red pants looks if you buy some! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for voting Doris!!
ReplyDeleteQuick question, did your Michael Kors shoes stretch out at all? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteMaren
I absolutely love this outfit! It is so fitting for London too! And isn't Portabello market amazing? I actually found this clothing store there and fell in love with a very expensive dress! But I was a good girl and stuck to the flea market finds instead!
ReplyDeleteLoving the colors!!!
ReplyDeleteMaren, I would say no. These shoes are painful where the buckle connects on the inside of the foot and it never got better during my vacation. I wore a band-aid in that spot which helped a little, but it was mostly squeezing my foot there, not rubbing, so there was nothing I could really do! I thought it might just be my feet though?
ReplyDeleteLove this for a work outfit!
ReplyDeleteI found those shoes at Marshalls too, and I have some JCrew chinos in that same color! But my shoes did stretch out. I practically wear them everyday and I am scouring ebay for more!
