This is a guest post while J is away on vacation. Check out Amanda's blog, Something Old, Something New!
I wore this same nautical striped top with a denim skirt in the spring. I think it transitions well into fall when paired with on-trend bell bottoms. I found these designer brand jeans at a consinment store for $25! Would you rock 70's-style bell bottom jeans?
Shirt: Forever 21 tunic via The Fairy Circle consignment shop, $7
Jeans: Paper Denim & Cloth via Fairy Circle consignment, $25
Belt: Vintage gold chain via thrift store, $2
Wedges: Pink Studio via Fairy Circle, $12
Purse: Vintage Louis Vuitton speedy gifted to me (was my Mom's from the late 70s/early 80s)
love your inspiration photo and love the stripes with the wide leg jeans
ReplyDeletea look i will be copying very soon

Love this look! It's great how you took the inspiration photo and turned your look into modern day. The chain belt is perfect with the wide legged jeans :)
ReplyDeletePerfect, i'd definitley rock this
ReplyDeleteThank you! You hit the nail on the head as the premise behind my blog is re-working something vintage in a modern way - I actually try to wear at least one vintage item (be it clothes or accessories) into each outfit!
ReplyDeleteGreat Post and look!!!

i always wondered if my $5 paper demin jeans from goodwill was a good deal! the zipper was broken, fixed, then broke again. and then the button needed replaced. so it all came to about $20, but still pretty dope! the fit is amazing
ReplyDeleteLove this look! And the jeans are super cute -- what a great find!
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit Amanda, especially the jeans. I just bought my first pair of high-waisted bell bottom jeans and I truly love them. I'm a 70's baby and am so into the 70's vibe.
ReplyDeleteBeen there, done that. No way would I wear high waisted bell bottoms since I wore them in the 70s. I've seen denim all ways and I'm sticking now to classic boot cut.
ReplyDeleteI just see nothing special about this at all. The jeans are too washed out and faded to be stylish and there's nothing that really pulls this into the 2010's for me.
ReplyDeleteCute girl, cute figure, but nothing special about this outfit.
Love it! I've been trying to figure out which top to wear with my 70s inspired jeans to not look too dated. I think this is a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI feel like I JUST got rid of my amazing bellbottoms from middle school (well, I guess that was a year or so ago). They did still fit, but I was wondering if I'd ever wear them again. Of course, now they're back in style. I am all about rocking the 70s look, I feel like it could easily be dressed up with a nice blouse!
ReplyDeleteJust something I would already throw on, on a Saturday---cute but ordinary.
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute! I love the chain belt- looks just vintage enough, but the outfit is still modern. The jeans are really flattering too...Love it!
ReplyDeleteThis may not be a groundbreaking outfit but it does give an example of "everyday" wear and I think that is J's aim. What it does do is show how to draw inspiration from a vintage photograph/trend/idea as well as provides a good example of balancing out proportions (ie fitted top with wide bottoms). In my opinion, cute look for everyday wear!
