Today's Everyday Fashion: Triple Color
As you know, colorblocking has been quite the trend this summer. If you stick to the true definition, it can mean something as simple as wearing a yellow shirt and blue skirt together (you really only need two colors in order to achieve colorblocking). However, I tend to be drawn to outfits with three strong colors like today's look. It is a stronger statement, and definitely very on-trend. Something about the mix of the three (or more) bold colors really appeals to me! Tell me - have you tried wearing three (or more) bold colors together?

I am a huge fan of the colorblocking trend. I have not tried 3 bold colors together, but I like 3 colors within the same color scheme paired together. Maybe I will give your look a try!

Wow..You wear brights so well. I am loving color blocking this summer too but I tend to shy away from "too" bright pieces =)
ReplyDeleteThis looks amazing! I love the colorblocking trend very much, but I have only stayed in the same color scheme for more than two colors (i.e., all blues, all reds). You did this look really well, J!

I have to say that I really love your mustard cardigan. I've noticed that it works for so many of your outfits, even mixed with brights like these.
ReplyDeleteOhh I love those gorgeous pops of color in your outfit! I tend to mix my pops of color with neutrals but I'm feeling inspired so I'm going to try and put something together like this! I think I just need to get some colored bottoms to mix with all my colored tops!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute outfit and love the inspiration-how-to! Though I usually stick with a more neutral palette I finally tried out color-blocking and ended up mixing 4 colors! Check it out here if you like: http://thelittlestunicornonearth.blogspot.com/2011/08/color-blocking-and-re-thinking.html
ReplyDeleteAnd in response to one of your comments - I don't have any blocked color bottoms either so I layered a tee over a dress so that it looks like I have a coral skirt! Give it a try, Emily!
Love this outfit! I love to wear bright and bold colors especially those which other people shy away from like mustard yellow and neon green. I probably have the opposite problem of most people and need more neutrals in my wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! I prefer 3 colors when putting together a colorblocking outfit. My favorite combo is yellow, orange, and green. I usually keep the darkest color on my bottom half.
ReplyDeletejust the other day i wore red, purple and green together
ReplyDeletelove the colorblocking!

I have tried this kind of thing, but sometimes it feels a bit disconnected. I think you did it very well here. Perhaps having similar saturation of all your colors helps to make it all mesh.

ReplyDeleteLove the combination of colors - so bright and so pretty))

I like the look though all 3 colors are strong, but you need to iron the skirt. =D
