Today's Everyday Fashion: Tory Burch
I may not be able to afford the real thing, but I am a tad obsessed with the Tory Burch aesthetic this summer. When I first spotted these shorts at the Gap, my mind went straight to Tory Burch and the prints she often shows (example: photo left). I drooled over them for months until they finally went on sale to $15 at my local store. I'm still not convinced that print shorts are the best investment for someone on a tight budget, but anything and everything "Tory Burch" is making me happy right now, so I decided to go for it. What designers do you pine over and wish you could afford?

I like your take on the Tory Burch today. The printed shorts and your necklace are great!
ReplyDeleteI really like Ann Taylor, and although some people might say it's not "designer" it is still out of my price range at full price. Ann Taylor pieces are very classic and timeless in my opinion.

I love Tory Burch as well! The shorts are really nice and to get them for $15, is such a good deal! I personally drool over DVF and Missoni. I wish I could afford Missoni everything! LOL!

I just saw those shorts in Gap! Passed them up, but now regretting it. You look great in them!
ReplyDeleteVery Cute! "Kendi Everyday" is wearing those same shorts on her blog post today. Great fashion minds think a like I guess! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah! Tory Burch is fantastic! I admire Isabel Marant too much and if I could splurge it would be on one of her pieces.
ReplyDeleteI dream of owning a closet full of Gucci and Dolce and Gabbana, I have pieces their traditionally known for but would LOVE to add some fun items!
ReplyDeleteLove Tory Burch!!!

Kate Spade would be one for me!!! You look great as usual :)
ReplyDeleteLove the print on the shorts, not sure if it goes with that top maybe because i like the hourglass sillouette.
ReplyDeleteI totally hear you! I love Banana Republic but can only afford it when I find things super on sale! Ann Taylor has beautiful stuff too!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I've been on the lookout for pattern shorts that could be played down as casual or dressed up with wedges and a blazer. These look like they might fit the bill!
ReplyDeleteToo funny! Did you also leave her a note and let her know?
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel! Not sure I understand your point though. The "flare" of my shirt is actually creating an hourglass silhouette here. Without, it my body goes straight up and down, so the shirt is adding some curve to my body!
ReplyDeleteI love Elizabeth and James, but due to the price point (and lack of plus sizes!) I'm SOL. A girl can dream though.....
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Tory Burch! I have 3 or 4 pairs of her flats- they are the best flats I own hands down.
nice shorts!
ReplyDeleteI didn't see any mention of these shorts on shopjcloset.com. Now they are all sold out :( what gives with that? Same thing with some other items in your other posts.
ReplyDeleteBrandi, the day I bought the shorts I checked Gap.com but they were already sold out, so no reason to post them. Let me know what other items you have questions about?
ReplyDeleteNo ...
ReplyDeleteHow do you determine your monthly budget?
ReplyDeleteHands down Ralph Lauren, all day and night long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI like your interpretation waaaay better.
ReplyDeleteI love the cupcake necklace!
ReplyDeleteRebecca Taylor!!! So feminine and pretty!!
ReplyDeleteLove this look - Tory Burch is just so refined and classic. I LOVE Etro (am a boho girl) and was so captivated by Alexander McQueen. I wouldn't turn down anything Stella McCartney or Chloe, either!
ReplyDeleteI'd have to echo the comments about Kate Spade and Ann Taylor. I love the timeless, classic look of their pieces, but I can't afford the prices. You can imagine how stoked I was on three recent trips to thrift stores to score three Kate Spade purses. Two were $5 each, and one was $4. I gave one of the $5 purses to my mother-in-law.
ReplyDeleteI love those shorts! And of course your smokin' bod makes them look perfect!

This post couldn't have come at a better time! I bought these shorts about a month ago after falling in love with them and just wore them for the first time on Saturday..the only thing is I had no idea what else to pair with them for the next time. I'll definitely be taking a cue from your inspiration photo!
ReplyDeleteJennifer, that is amazing!! I clearly need to go thrift store shopping with you! :-)
ReplyDeleteErin, I was also captivated by Alexander McQueen. Hands down one of the best visionaries to have ever lived!
ReplyDeleteI love Cristina Greeven Cuomo's style! In fact, I saw this awesome profile on her at Clos-ette Too-- Check it out!! http://bit.ly/pWuKD8
ReplyDeleteJ, we don't really have money (and I can't get time off from work! LOL) to go to Florida, but anytime you want to come to Baltimore, let me know and we'll hit the thrift stores. I would love to see what catches your eye! I love thrifting because it's the ultimate in recycling and it saves money too.
ReplyDeleteJennifer, I've already tried thrift shopping in Florida and it's absolutely horrible, so don't come here for that. Thrift stores are way better in Kansas and Boston, where I used to live!
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit and your blog! You've inspired a lot of the clothes and shoes I've been buying recently. :)

ReplyDeleteI'm thinking about to buying those shoes on mjrsales.com today, they just came up in my size. Comfortable wedges?
ReplyDeleteBrittany, I would give them an 8 or 9 on a scale of 1 to 10. The back of the shoe rubbed my ankle a little raw during one particularly long day, but I can wear these for hours and they are really comfy and easy to walk in otherwise!
