Today's Everyday Fashion: Crazy Lady












































I loved this inspiration photo so much, that I hunted and hunted until I found a colorful belt to complete the look. (I figured I could get more use out of a belt rather than a woven purse like SJP is sporting.) After doing some Google searches, I found an Etsy store called Rogue Retro that sells amazing vintage finds. They had several colorful belts to choose from including this one from Guatemala (there are links to the other belts below). I would up wearing this ensemble to the mall yesterday. I realize it's a tad "colorful" and I got a couple strange looks (red pants and purple shirt? it even sounds crazy), but I still stand by this outfit. As I tweeted recently "life is too short to not wear color," and life is also too short to not wear what you want. I rocked the red pants and purple shirt with a hippie vibe and loved every minute of it! :-)

    LOVE LOVE LOVE those earrings!!! And red and purple are a GREAT combination. I don't know if you've ever watched the television show BONES, but Dr. Temperance Brennan wears a lot of red and purple and it's looks ALMOST as awesome on her as it does on you here...almost. :-)

    I love your red jeans and purple top.  I just purchased a red pair of jeans and LOVE them.  They are quite versatile.  I also have a belt very similar to the one you have one and it is also from Guatamala.  That belt has got a ton of wear this summer! 

    My favorite celebrity inspirations are #1 Reese Witherspoon and #2 Rachel Bilson.  Such cute ladies!

    Hi J!  I am contemplating signing up to become a Stella & Dot Stylist.  I wanted to find out from you your opinion on it, and what you bought for your $350 worth of jewelry?
    I juse feel that I would not have enough stuff to show at a show with only $350 worth of jewelry, and I really wouldn't want to spend more than the $199 to sign up.
    I would love to hear what you chose, and your opinon on this.

    Stephanie, totally hear you on this. The idea is to sign up with a stylist, or find one in your area, that has a lot of jewelry and you can borrow it for the first couple trunk shows (I'm told this is standard practice). You then earn a tons of credits towards free jewelry based on those trunk shows. It's something called "the jump star period" where they make it really easy to earn free jewelry in the first 100 days. I am starting a S&D FB page really soon and will be sharing pictures, what a chose, etc. So stay tuned and you can learn all about my journey as a stylist! (and you can also sign up with me if you want!)

    I love it!  I was just looking at this picture of Sarah Jessica Parker two days ago, because I really really want red skinny jeans!  LOL!  I love purple and red together, and I plan to rock this look this summer too!  Her bag sold out everywhere shortly after she was spotted wearing this look too.  :)

    LOVE! Also, new J.Crew Fall arrivals came out today! Among with this color combination there are soo many new inspirations for color combinations. They are definitely on the color blocking trend!

    I love SJP, but I'm not so sure about this look. I like it on you, because you have the right skin tone to pull of that sort of bold color, but on someone like me, I don't think it would look good at all :(

    The style name is Din Go, but they are all sold out online unfortunately. You might be able to buy them in the store at DSW or Nordstrom Rack though!

    Thanks J for the info!!  I received my first pair of S&D earring just yesterday and love, love, love them!  I was actually surprised on how great the quality was!!!  I will look forward to your FB page and seeing what you purchased.

    I already sell Thirty-One Gifts, so I understand what it is like to be a consultant, but I already had a bunch of their products before I became a consultant, plus you too could earn a bunch of free products dependent on sales etc, which I did.  I don't think there are many consultants around me, because I had never heard of S&D until reading a few blogs, so I think it would be a good business around here, because I don't think there are many people selling it...but we will see.  I have to decide on if the start up fee is too much, and if my husband will allow me to take on something else.
    But if I do, I will keep you in mind...I would love to sign up with you or someone who is really into fashion and could help me with my choices.

    Stephanie, I totally agree with you on the quality of S&D. I didn't just become a stylist to earn money - I'm totally in love with their jewelry and think they are the best value out there! I'm always happy to answer questions, and you can go to my website anytime to sign up to become a stylist. You then have 7 days to place your sample order from the day you sign up. I love 31 Gifts too, my friend Ashley is a Director with that company.
