I have a crush on the color orange lately. When I was a kid, it was always my least favorite. I didn't like orange markers, and I didn't like orange popsicles. But I'm loving all the citrus hues shown on the runway recently, and I've come to learn that orange is an excellent color for my skin tone. And now I can't get enough! :-)
Styling tips: Are there colors you've been afraid to try? This summer, make it your goal to try on at least one new color that you may or may not love on the hanger. If it doesn't work out, no harm done. If it does, you might find yourself with a new favorite color just like me!

I love orange now too and used to hate it when I was younger but now I find like you, it goes great with my skin tone! I don't like wearing red too much, I just feel too "bright" when I wear it.

ReplyDeleteIt's not really a "color," but gray always washes me out. I just can't quite get it right . . . but I think it's my pale coloring and freckles that make it tough for me to pull off. I'll just stick to black or white, I guess!

ReplyDeleteThe link is being weird, but the site works like eBay - one listing for every item so I can't link to the actual top. Use the search categories to narrow it down - the brand is Moda, so I would look for Moda tops/sweaters! :-)
ReplyDeleteLight gray is hard for me to pull off too. I love a dark charcoal gray though! Similar to black, but with a little more depth, you should try it. :-)

ReplyDeleteI've always disliked purple. I recently tried it and discovered that although I'm still not crazy about bright purple, I'm loving lavender and a dark smokey purple.
ReplyDeleteI also very recently fell in love coral. I HATE orange, but coral with pink or red tones is perfect for spring. :)
LOVE this color and that top is gorgeous! I've been searching for a great pair of white pants- with every pair I've come across so far, the fabric is either way too thin (see through pants... yuck!) or feels too bulky for spring.. I can't wait until I find a great pair so I can try and recreate this outfit! Love it, J!

ReplyDeleteNatalie, I would also wear this top (or one like it) with blue jeans or khaki-colored bottoms with the same shoes. The beads are brownish so the shoes go well with them!

ReplyDeleteI have to say, I love that watch... your shoes... and orange looks great on you! There are probably a lot of colors that I'm afraid to try. I usually play it safe and wear blues, because they look good with my lighter hair and eyes. You make me want to go out and buy something in a fun new color though!

ReplyDeleteKim, I have always loved white skinny jeans and I think pretty much any shoe color goes. I tend to not pair with black because it's too harsh, but literally everything else - red, gold, taupe, nude, brown is fair game! ReplyDeleteI loving your shorts with the tunic top. Right now I'm loving long sleeve tops with shorts. I have a striped boatneck sweater that I want to wear with shorts... Shorts that I don't have yet. I really need to start looking because I have a limited window here in the south that I will be able to wear long sleeve anything let alone a sweater.

ReplyDeleteLindsey, it depends on the item, but they usually only have a few of the item, and I don't think I ever saw another one of these. Check "new arrivals" from time to time though - that's where you find the really good stuff before someone snaps it up!
