Flashback Friday: Nude Shoes
[Click the photo to view it larger.] Nude shoes are an awesome staple to have in your closet. They elongate your legs, and are perfect for those "what shoes am I going to wear?!" moments because they go with absolutely anything. I also love-lace up shoes, so I certainly couldn't pass on these nude lace-ups when I saw them last year. :-) They were my "it" shoe last summer, but I still love them to death and plan on wearing them this summer too! Do you love nude shoes? Which look in today's post is your favorite?
Shopping tip: Want these shoes? Google the style name "Chinese Laundry Lucky Strike" - tons of websites still have them.

I read on another fashion site that people tend to gravitate towards shoes that "bookend" their hair color. Since I'm a dark brown brunette I guess that's why most of my shoes are black!
ReplyDeleteCan you come and dress me?? haha Love love love your style! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's too hard to pick just one outfit! They all look great! Love nude shoes...they do go with everything. I love your lace ups too! Just not sure if I could pull them off. You make them look great though!
ReplyDeleteLove all of your looks and really like the shoes. Honest question here: would legs as great as yours be required to pull these lace-up shoes off? I'm being serious with this question - I really like them, but don't know if they'd look even a tenth as good on me as they do on you! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat color are yours...cognac or natural?
ReplyDeleteI love love nude shoes, but have yet to find a pair that I love and can actually walk in! My favorite of your photos is the navy skirt with mustard top. I love that color yellow! Of course, all are fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteI hadn't thought about nude shoes as a way to match many different outfits at once, but these definitely accomplish many great things at once! Do you have other nude shoe recommendations, particularly flats? Thanks for the great idea -
ReplyDeleteNine West makes a great nude pump called "Bonfire." I don't wear flats so unfortunately I'm not much help there. :-( Ladies, feel free to weigh in if you know of one!
ReplyDeleteI love nude shoes! I have been on the prowl for months and finally found a pair at kohls, of all places. They are nude pumps, nothing special, but they are just what I need. They are perfect for tall girls, that love heels, like me, but don't want to be 7ft tall and easy to walk in.
ReplyDeleteIn store they are $35 but I had kohls cash so they were $15!!! p.s. they are not as cute online as in real life! Here's the website if anyone is interested:

And J, your outfits are super cute. I love them all!
Thanks Melanie! These are pretty darn comfortable. I think it has something to do with the fact that you can adjust exactly how tight they are so they stay on your foot really well. None of that "slipping" you get with pumps.
ReplyDeleteNatural.
ReplyDeleteI must say I love all of these looks, but I'll chose... #4 (yellow shorts) and #9 (navy skirt w/ yellow top) as my favorites. Yep, my favorite color is yellow. :)
ReplyDeleteNeutral colors for me would be cognac and brown. I just checked my closet and I have about 6 pairs of cognac (3 where recent purchases) and about 3 pair of brown shoes. So, yes, I love nude shoes!
Thanks for sharing your fashion sense with us, J. I'm gaining more & more confidence every day from reading your blog. -rena
Bonnie, nude shoes are super-flattering on everyone, the only thing you have to watch about the lace-us are the top of the shoe, just make sure it isn't "cutting into" your leg (ankle cleavage is not our friend). It's worth a shot if you love them!
ReplyDeleteThat is really interesting Erin!
ReplyDeleteGood! Because I just ordered some in natural! I hope they look as cute on me and they do on you!!
ReplyDeleteI never really loved nude shoes until I had a pair of my own. They are basic nude peep toe pumps and they go with everything......
ReplyDeleteI LOVE nude shoes! I wear them all the time! I also have a few great peep-toe shoes for winter that are nude.....nude shoes compliment any outfit!
ReplyDeleteLove this! Time for me to buy some...
ReplyDeleteLove these shoes! I actually bought them after seeing them here a few months ago. I can't wait for summer to finally come to wear them. =)
ReplyDeleteYes, I love all the styles that a nude shoe comes in now. I want to try wearing white so, #13 is my favorite. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteI love the black blazer and shorts with the white tee. So chic.
ReplyDeleteI also adore nude shoes! I have a peep toe wedge that I thrifted for $4 that I am wearing with everything right now. I also have a peep-toe platform oxford that I wear when I dress up. I am looking for a flat nude oxford, but haven't found one I like. :)
I was recently helping my friend (with foot problems) find cute flats for a wedding. There are a couple nude flat options at target. Just go to target.com and click flats under womens shoes. Unfortunately they don't have nude as a color option to sort by but there aren"t that many flats to browse through...hope you find some!
ReplyDeletehi J! just wanna say u look fabulous! I really lke the way you carry your clothes! Thanks for being an inspiration to all of us =)
ReplyDeleteJ, do you think those shoes can fit nicely & look good on my bunion feet?
ReplyDeleteI'm really not sure what bunions are but I'm guessing you probably want shoes that will cover them up?
ReplyDeleteThanks Rena! I love cognac shoes too, have at least 5 pairs myself! :-)
ReplyDeleteLoved this post! Following the royal wedding... would you mind sharing your wedding pictures with us? I bet you were a beautiful bride and I would love to see some pics!!
ReplyDeleteAnna, I shared a couple last year but I'm planning a bigger post on our 3-year anniversary this July! :-)
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of nude heels; I got them for $20 at Marshall's about a year ago and consider them one of my best purchases!
ReplyDeleteI am digging look #7! 12 and 13 are favorites, as well!
ReplyDeleteThose are lovely, thanks for the tip I even think that I could possibly wear these...

I love nude shoes. I haven't bought a pair yet. I like your comment about how this shade is perfect for when you don't know what color to wear.
ReplyDeleteI love these shoes. I think they look amazing with your leather jacket and black pants! They really make the outfit. I think I need to invest in a pair asap.

Gosh these shoes are gorgeous! Unfortunately I have a severe lower back problem which prevents me from wearing heels that are more than 2 inches. Would nude shoes with lower heels also go with any color palette / type of outfit?
ReplyDeleteYes, absolutely! Nude flats are also a blank slate and would go with pretty much anything!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love nude shoes and still haven't found a pair to buy, they always seem to sell out before I can get my hands on a pair! Thank you for posting the name of those shoes, hopefully I can find them and snag a pair for myself! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for this post! I had recently bought a pair and was trying to figure out what kind of outfits to match it with.
ReplyDeleteI just did a post on nude pumps (http://scrapandrun.blogspot.com/2011/04/how-to-wear-nude-pumps.html) and then on how readers wore them (http://scrapandrun.blogspot.com/2011/04/nude-pumps-how-readers-wore-them.html) because I love a nude shoe.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite looks with these nude shoes are:
ReplyDeletetop row: #2, #5 and #7
bottom row: #3, #5 and #6
Thank you for doing a flashback with these shoes, I have them and I love them! I love wearing heels and shorts but I sometimes fear people might think I look to risque, you show fabulous ways to get creative while keeping it classy! Thanks! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi J! Huge fan and I LOVE these shoes. Are they the Cognac color or truly nude? I found them but only in Cognac... they look much darker than the ones in your pictures but thought I would double check. Thx much!
ReplyDeleteMine are called "natural" (aka nude). They also make them in cognac though!
ReplyDeleteI found them in nude on Shoes.com and if you google for coupons I was able to get them for 20% off, so they were $60.
