I am way too amused that "faux tee" sounds like you are saying "forty." (And now everyone just sounded it out in their head!) At any rate... I think the faux leather trend this fall/winter is really fun and I especially love tees like this with just a little leather here and there (sleeves and pocket to be exact). The outfit with jeans and boots is what I run to the grocery store in, and the bottom outfit is an idea for dressing up the same shirt (sorry for the shorts, it was 90 degrees earlier this week). Are you a faux tee fan? Which look is your favorite?

I love this look with the touches of leather. This is a great way to bring leather into your wardrobe without looking like a biker :) Heather
ReplyDeleteI don't own one currently but I am a fan! I actually prefer your shorts look - laidback but completely chic! And the gold accents just tie everything together.
ReplyDeletethis is such an awesome with the mix of textures, and your outfits are amazing!

Don't apologize for the shorts! It was nice to see a little variety in your look! :)
ReplyDeleteI like the shorts look! I think that is a super cute summer look.
ReplyDeleteLove love the shorts look!! Perfectly styled! Thank you for another outfit idea!
ReplyDeleteI love that top so much! I have a Club Monaco one in grey with black leather trim!
ReplyDeleteI adore the leather touches that are popping up everywhere! I need to get some! I think I like the first look with the simple necklace and the jeans, but the shorts are fun too!

Love the tee with the jeans super cute for casual get togethers with the ladies
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't believe it was 90 degrees where you are! (Where are you??) It's been a blizzard round my parts. I like the Forever 21 look!
ReplyDeleteLove this shirt. Would kill to be able to wear shorts right now!!! Love it. I love the black and grey color block top the best.

Love the jeans look, the shorts would be great for summer here. Maybe if I saw the pictures from different angles I would like the jeans with the boots better, but it kind of looks like there is an awkard gap between where your jeans end and the boots start. Maybe I would wear higher boots that are up another inch or two.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the second look. I've never seen a tee like this!!

Love it! Such a fun twist to a basic tee! And at only $19, how could I pass it up?!

Love the tee! And how you paired it with my favorite Chinese Laundry pumps!
ReplyDeleteLove the black with gold accents here... The first look is my favorite but I would have worn the gold-toe heels instead of the boots... I'm a total noob when it comes to fashion, not a style maven like you, but I don't really see the color or shape of the boots matching all the black you've got going on. Just my opinion :). Can you explain how you came to choose the boots eiththis? Looking for tips on "clashing without actually clashing", if that makes sense. Also, by "faux tee" do you mean "faux LEATHER tee"? I don't get what a "faux tee" is... Sounds like a top that looks like a t-shirt but isn't? Again, fashion noob here. I wasn't even aware that faux leather was trending! I learn so much about style from you, j!
ReplyDeleteI'm in Orlando! This time of year is strange - 90 degrees earlier this week, but only 65 right now.
ReplyDeleteI love that idea - the heels would also work with the jeans outfit, and a FB reader suggested leopard shoes this morning, love that too! For your mixing black + brown question, you might enjoy this quick post: http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2011/04/flashback-friday-black-and-brown.html I hardly ever wear black without mixing in brown somewhere, I love it. And yes faux leather tee is probably a better way to describe it (I was being goofy), although "faux leather tee" sounds like the whole t-shirt is leather (another item I'm seeing all over stores), rather than just parts of the shirt, so maybe "faux leather trim tee"?
ReplyDeleteLove that tee!!! Thanks for the other suggestions too! You are so good at that on your blog!
ReplyDeleteLeather details are so great for add a little toughness. This is great J! Love it!

Yes, cute outfit, but I am about 75 degrees shy of being able to use it around here!
ReplyDeleteI really like the look with the black jeans and brown boots, but I think the shirt as a dress up with the shorts is a stretch...maybe it's missing something...??
ReplyDeleteAll of your (p.r.e.t.t.y.!!) gold accessories/accents really *brighten up*............ your two outfits' olive-green-and-black being paired together!! Great styling!! Windsor (Store) online has "Dark Denim/FLORAL Reversible Jeans," which also might look coordinatedly-cute with your Windsor's Olive/Black Faux Leather Short Sleeve Top, too!!
ReplyDeleteIncidentally, about a.l.l. that you'd probably (figuratively!!) need To Take Yourself To Paris In The Springtime, J. ............ would be a pair of Windsor's "Dark Denim/LACE Reversible Jeans" paired with............ a solid-color, flowy/floaty chiffon top of some sort............ plus some shoes meant for leisurely strolling *to* a Parisian cafe'............ (i.e., to me, those lace-print jeans are simply *that* beautifully Parisian-looking)!!
I've been loving the contrast pieces lately, I just made my own post of my favorite things this January and I featured a leather/denim contrast jacket which is a similar idea to your top.

not crazy about the faux tee though the contrast is nice. LOVE having a looser shirt over shorty shorts, so cute and casual. nice look J!
ReplyDeleteI love how you always give us options! And variations!

ReplyDeleteI really love the second look the ones with the shorts. It looks cute.
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing as always....my favourite look it the one with pants.
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of the faux leather long sleeve tee. I have one with real leather which got on major sale but I would totall wear a faux leather version of what I have.

I was able to score a faux leather tee from JCPenney in plus size for under $20. I wore it today and loved the look. However, by the time I took the picture, I had taught all day so I don't look my best. http://inthemiddlefashion.blogspot.com/
