Same dress x 4 |
I wore this for a speaking engagement in Tallahassee yesterday! (It was for my VISIT FLORIDA gig.) I was craving the cobalt skirt + necklace combo, and Dalmatian print felt like the perfect print to combine it with. I only have a Dalmatian dress, and while I love wearing dresses as tops, this is the first time I've tried one with a fitted pencil skirt (I usually go for a fuller skirt, like so). The dress adds some warmth, and also gets rid of any hints of VPL, but it made my skirt a bit tighter and I had to make sure the dress stayed in position throughout the day. In the end, I could hardly tell I was wearing a dress and I don't think anyone would've ever guessed, so it's a trick I plan to try again. Do you ever wear dresses as shirts?
Dress (worn as shirt): H&M, $30

It definitely doesn't look like you have a dress under your skirt, so great job making it look like it was meant to be a shirt!
ReplyDeleteI wear dresses as shirts frequently (and skirts as shirts!) Dresses with a band/elastic at the hem are wonderful, because you can fold them under to create a bubble hem and adjust the length.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea and you can't even tell the dress is under the skirt. Genius! Gonna have to try it out myself.

Love how you pulled this off! I can't even tell your shirt is a dress! Look forward to doing this myself :)
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I've never done the dress as a top move, or dress as a skirt. I love the print and it does look great with the blue.

Love every outfit you've styled with the dress! The blue really pops with black and white, but I think my favorite look is the more casual one with the sandals. Has a bit of a bohemian vibe.
