I've been on the hunt for more ways to wear this fox sweater, and decided to use this J.Crew photo as inspiration. I love the idea of wearing it with a mustard pencil skirt, but went with yellow jeans and boots for a casual look that would work well in the current winter weather. Which sweaters do you like from the shopping picks below?

Outfit #2 seems to be the colors that sweater was made for, I feel! It looks perfectly matched to me! What a cozy, colorful outfit, J! :) I have this sweater too, and after the inital "OMG A CUTE FOX SWEATER, LOOK HOW CUTE I AM!", I'm finding it hard to want to put on such an iconic piece more than once a season, you know? But I've been wearing it over button ups or under blazers to try to "disguise" it and get a few wears out of it this winter!
ReplyDeleteI love the sweater with the three sheep on it! How adorable. Mustache sweater is a close second.
ReplyDeleteI love the third row - sheep, cat, polar bear in that order... :) And your outfit is really nice, that fox sweater is so cute :)
ReplyDeleteI have been kicking myself for a few weeks now for not buying the fox and sheep sweaters from Old Navy. They were snatched up before they ever had a chance to go on sale!
ReplyDeleteI found tons on eBay and that's where I bought mine!
DeleteLove it! I just went to old navy online to buy the sheep sweater and medium was available. But . . . I sold out just before I selected it. 😔
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute. I am loving that fox sweater, wish it wasn't sold out!
ReplyDeleteI have the same fox sweater and have worn it with orange skirt with polka dot blouse for work, with jeans a chambray for the weekend. I love how fun these statement sweaters are.

I love that tiger sweater from Piperlime!! Though I still adore your fox sweater and am bummed about it being unavailable! I'm sure I'll find some sort of a dupe for it someday though :)

I'm really into this trend right now. I've been looking for one that feels right to me. Out of the ones you showed, my favorite would have to be the red one with the white tiger!

Hi! I have been following your blog for a long time and LOVE it! I love your style and you have many many times given me the guts to try out new outfits and given me ideas of fresh ways to wear clothes I already own. Thank you!! I wanted to know if you could help me out with something. I decided to jump into the floral/printed denim trend. I found a pair I am crazy about (I wish my husband felt the same way, he says they look like a grandma's couch! haha). Anyhow, i need some styling ideas. I don't want to walk into a room and have people just notice my flower pants! Any tips? Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this sweater! I have been looking for a cat one and I really love the J Crew one in your inspiration photo!
ReplyDeleteIn your original post's outfit, your little fox is "peeking out" from behind the strap of your Karen Millen crossbody bag; but in your latest outfit with him here............ he's *free*, (haha)!! 'Love graphic sweaters----'love your outfit here, J.!!
ReplyDeleteCute outfit! I like the bow one and the bottom polar bear one!! :)
ReplyDeleteCute sweater! I can use these ideas for a similar sweater I just got with a rabbit on it.
ReplyDeleteI do have a somewhat related question I wonder if anyone can answer.
I LOVE the sweater over a button down shirt look. However I find it often impossible to actually wear, and definitely impossible to wear with a blazer over it. I have wider shoulders and will often size up so shirts fit and I won't feel like I'm "hulking" it. Which means the sleeves won't be slim/tight against my arms. Put I sweater over it and it's bunchy and I feel as if I'm suffocating. I would love to put a blazer over it but the blazer would have to be huge to fit comfortably or I would just not have full range of motion of my arms :). Is it because I am getting the wrong sizes or just because my shape is not great for the look?
Any advice would be so appreciated! Thanks!
I sooo wanted that fox swearter, and it's sold out! :( Just found your blog. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love both of your looks! So cute.
ReplyDeleteI like the whole bottom row for casual sweaters, and #1 (top left) for work or a dressier look.
Laura, excellent question and while difficult to "diagnose" over the internet, I'm thinking it's a combo of both a tough body type to fit this style, but also there could be some different methods to getting this style to work for you. In the polka dot look, that is a sheer, super-thin shirt. A shirt that style could work better for you - it fits under the sweater more easily, and you may be able to get your regular size which will help. Also when it comes to blazers I will often size up - that blazer in the polka dot look I went a size up so I could wear it with sweaters/layered looks. Just don't buy it too big or it will look sloppy, but there's a balance and the right blazer will be fitted but have plenty of room. Hope this helps!
ReplyDeleteI really like both looks, but slightly leaning to #2 for the fave! Love the mustard color!

I love that you are trying floral denim! I would most likely keep it pretty simple and do a loose-fitting top like a solid color sweater, silky button up or simple blouse. However, I also think you could combine the pants with stripes, or a graphic tee and blazer combo to spice it up a bit. Also - try Google Images for "floral denim" or "floral pants"- I bet you will find lots of inspiration that way!
