This is my last post before I leave for Africa tomorrow! ("We go si bak" is goodbye in Krio.) I have 15 ladies lined up to blog while I'm away, and I'm really excited to share their posts with you. My last outfit before I go is something I wore earlier this week to do a closet consultation and run errands. I have cut-out t-shirts in four colors and they are in constant rotation. They are comfy, easy to wash, but have a little something extra than a regular t-shirt. I paired my white one and a necklace from last summer with new shorts, and decided to go all out and wear fun shoes as well. This is an outfit that beats the heat but still has plenty of pizazz. Would you wear printed shorts?
Shirt: Victoria's Secret c/o MJR Sales, $14
Necklace: Zad c/o Shop It Beverly Hills, $29
Shorts: Limited, $30
1. Forever 21 shirt, $14.80
2. Urban Outfitters shirt, $19.99

Adorable outfit! Wishing you all the best for your trip to Africa!
ReplyDelete'Love your orange tribal-print shorts!! Because tribal prints are often very simple, geometric, and wearable, I think your orange tribal print shorts would look good, (i.e., depending on your shirt/accessories/shoes!!) ............ in just about *any* Decade Of Fashion since, oh, the 1930's, or so!!
ReplyDeleteAnnnnd............ have a good, *s.a.f.e.* trip to Sierra Leone!! This Summer, one of my nieces has a 2-month-long job (in the U.S.) as a Fitness Instructor/Camp Counselor; and she's really "DREADING the moment"----(in 10 days, when the Camp is over)----in which she has to *leave* the #18 young girls under her care. The best thing about my niece's experience is that she's also been given the blessed opportunity to (as she said), "care for the kids' hearts"............ which will also be *your privilege* very soon, too, J.!!:

I love your necklace and was considering buying one, but saw that you said you got this last summer. Do you think this is something that will stay in style for a while and is worth buying now? Or do you think it is more of a trend piece?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I hope you have an amazing time in Africa..it will be a trip of a lifetime. My husband and I plan go to in a few years...jealous!

I am going to start looking for printed shorts. Mine are all solid colors and I think I have 1 blue plaid.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to say for sure. "Statement necklaces" is a trend that came on the scene almost 4 years ago. Doesn't look like it is going anywhere soon, but fashion is fickle, so I would give it anywhere from another year to a few years!
ReplyDeleteWoo! I just got these shorts last week! Aren't they awesome?! I love the way you styled them, I had a similar vision, I just need a statement necklace like the one you've got and I'll be all set. Love it!

Have an amazing trip!! Safe travels :)
ReplyDeleteI admire your stand on your trip to Sierra Leone. I'm new to this blog and I was reading through past posts and came upon the one where you made it available for readers to donate. I thought it was great how you handled those who did not agree with your choice. You can't please everyone, and if you are, you're doing something wrong. I'm thankful to see someone who took a stand and didn't let the opinions and negativity of others dampen their spirit. Have a wonderful trip.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate this, thank you!! :-)
ReplyDeleteIf I had your legs, I'd wear all kinds of shorts! Love these on you. I'm going to stick to my diet and hope for the best for next summer!
ReplyDeletehello!!!! I just found your blog and I loved it, please come visit my blog and if you like it let´s follow each other!!!! let me know ok!

ReplyDeleteJ! I have these shorts too. They are so cute. However I hemmed them up to 3 inch inseams.
ReplyDeleteSigh. Africa is a continent, not a country. Please be more specific.
ReplyDeleteThe word Africa is a link that goes to my post where I explain where and why I'm going if you want to learn more!
ReplyDeleteToo funny, I love it! :-) It was an amazing experience!
