Last week I shot another episode of my makeover show and this is what I wore! Claudia is mom to an 18-month-old and does real estate from home. Her budget was $50, and in this episode we focused on cleaning out her closet + making new outfits with what she already had. (You'll be able to watch the whole thing in late August, but for now go here to watch other episodes of my show!) This outfit proved to be colorful and funky, and yet comfy for a long day. If someone went through your closet what things would you want help with?

ReplyDeleteLove the outfit J! Wow $50budget, can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteSo cool! Thanks for a behind the scenes look.Great outfit! If someone went through my closet, I would like them to honestly tell me what I have that is wrong for my body shape/type. Sometimes I buy clothes that I think are super cute but may not always be the most flattering for my shape. Looking forward to the show!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!

I'm looking forward to the new episode. I would like to have someone help me pare down the clothes in my closets (yes-plural). I know I have way too many, but I find it very hard to give away pieces. I'm always worried that as soon as I give it away, I'll need it and will have to buy a replacement.
ReplyDeleteI would need help with accessories. I have quite a few, but I never seem to do well getting statement pieces, or spending wisely on them.
ReplyDeleteI love your outfit! I'm going to check out your show right now :)

I am SO pumped about this upcoming episode and am wishing I was in Claudia's already-in-her-closet-but-worn-with-something-totally-different-shoes! this is EXACTLY what I would hire you to do Jen, so I'm pumped to be able to see you in action (before I try to hire you over skype to do the same thing for me!)
ReplyDeleteThis will be a great episode and appeal to even more of your fans :) We all love the opportunity to make old things new again and seeing what can be done with the clothing we already own. Can't wait!!!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing how you wear your Stella and dot pieces! Those earrings are my favorites
ReplyDeleteThat top is amazing, and I can't believe I've never seen an episode of your show! Running over to check it out now. :)
ReplyDeleteHi! I love your blog and can't wait to see your new episode. I struggle with pairing shoes with outfits more than anything else. I'll put together a cute outfit, but can never figure out what shoes to wear.
ReplyDeleteI would definitely love help with the same thing..........making outfits from things I already have. I am so horrible at putting things together!
ReplyDeleteCool!
ReplyDeleteSmile On:)...Classy Pam

I adore this top!
ReplyDeleteYou're SO skilled at styling animal prints, (which I love!!); but all of those "Other Types Of Prints"----(e.g., bold, graphic prints, i.e., as in today's post, Above....simpler geometric prints....ikat prints....tribal prints....floral prints....watercolor prints....abstract prints....etc. ....etc. ....etc.)............ that you style, J., are one of the areas (of many!!) where............ your *talent* shines. Really, R.E.A.L.L.Y. shines!!
ReplyDeleteIn today's print-styling, you "picked out" the orange-red in your bold, graphic-print top; paired it with your plain/unfussy orange-red pencil skirt............ then kept your shoes a *soft* neutral............ and your earrings a complementary (jade green) color............ so your outfit is very visually/pleasingly "unified"; but not conspicuously/boringly "exactly matchy-matchy" either!!
What a cheery, up-beat, and *optimistic* outfit to wear............ i.e., out on a (client's) Styling Shoot, too!! When you've chosen those (*l.u.c.k.y.*!!) clients for your Makeover Shows, it's great how you've chosen (so far)............ a busy young professional woman............ a busy young Mom, with two daughters (6 and 2 1/2), who works outside of the home............ then (as Above) a busy young Mom, with an 18-month-old, who works from home. I have friends, who are women of color, from many different cultures/backgrounds............ (as I've happily noticed, all along, that many of your Commenters~~here and on Facebook~~are, too, J.!!)............ so that maybe would be another genuinely rewarding avenue to pursue for some of your future Makeover Shows (?), because, as you know, truly good style really knows no............ even *global* boundaries!!
****By the way, while you were on the floor, tackling lovely Claudia's closet (Above), I bet that you FIRST handed her the teal top~~(on the hanger, in your left hand)~~to try-on with her *blue* pencil skirt; then I bet you (just went ahead and) let Claudia try on your own bold, graphic-print LIMITED top----(with the *blue* shoulder-details)----since you & she are similar in height/size/shape; and also because y.o.u.r. bold, graphic-print top probably would've looked just *wonderful* with C.l.a.u.d.i.a.'s. blue pencil skirt, too ........................ didn't you, J.??!! (Haha!!)****
Thanks Kathy! The beauty and the frustrating thing with shoes is that so many pairs can go with any given outfit. There is never a "right" answer in my opinion, it truly depends on the occasion!
ReplyDeletelooks like fun - seems like she probably already had great things to work with!
ReplyDelete♥ ThankFifi
Yay! I can't wait to see the new episode!
ReplyDeleteDo you happen to know where her top is from? or where I can find something similar (color doesn't matter). I've been looking for one like that for so long! Help!
ReplyDeleteClaudia's green top is Old Navy I believe. It's not new though, I think she's had it for awhile!
ReplyDeleteYou look so chic. I cant wait to see this episode. :)
