I was in Key West last weekend for VISIT FLORIDA, and this is what I wore for sightseeing and story research! I packed very last-minute, but as I was going through my closet, I realized that these old pieces (top and skirt) were practically made for each other. Add one (new) blue clutch and some island-appropriate laid-back sandals, and I was ready to rock. I was in such a hurry that I forgot to bring a cami to wear under this shirt, but thankfully I packed a blue bra that matched so well, it looked like part of the ensemble (you can catch a peak in the photo below). What would you wear for sightseeing in Key West?
Shirt: c/o Saivana, last year
Skirt: Express, $30
Shoes: Diba/Nordstrom Rack, $40 (similar, similar)
Purse: Ann Taylor, $30

Watch: Michael Kors, family gift
Ring: c/o INPINK, $18
Left bracelets: My Stella & Dot website $49 and $32

2. Macy's shirt, $66.99

Very cute outfit, J! Just an FYI, I went shopping yesterday at NY&C and they are having an amazing sale and I bought a blue skirt like the one you have on (mine's a bit longer though which is nice since I can wear it to work), it was only $21!

ReplyDeletealso - i am TOTALLY sending you a guest post! :) you are awesome!
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing in this colour and I think the shirt is great without the cami under anyway! I'd prob opt for much the same except w/ shorts for comfort. Bella is adorable - I never knew you had a dog! I am a fellow dog lovin blogger - Mr K is in almost all my posts ;)
ReplyDelete♥ ThankFifi
p.s. such a great opportunity to guest post - I will be getting my entry in to you soon!x
Love the blue blue combo!
ReplyDeleteI love the blue!
ReplyDeleteA trip to Africa sounds so exciting! I will definitely submit an entry!
Such a whimsical ensemble! Love the blue painting complimenting you in the background of the first picture.
ReplyDeletelove, love the blue combination. this is definitely a favourite
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your site for about a month or so now and I love it! I like that you use pieces that I can actually find and afford. Quick question for you...I have a wedding this Saturday and have bought two completely different dresses and trying to decide which one to keep and which to return. The ceremony is at 7pm (in Texas heat) and from the looks of the reception it will be swanky but not black tie. Which would you chose? The Banana dress has a super fun print (is it too daytime) but not very figure flattering...the blue dress fits tighter than pictured and my figure would be 'out there'. Or are neither not dressy enough for an evening wedding? Help!

I love Key West! We have vacationed there for the last 2 years now! We always rent scooters, although I can't drive my own (scary)! Since I always have to ride on the back I like to wear flowy short dresses. A mini skirt would ride up a lot on the back of a scooter! Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteI love the shirt! The blues are so pretty and love the picture in the background behind you!

Adorable as always!! I really love the white top in the middle too!
ReplyDeleteThis top is absoluetly gorgeous. It reminds me of the Caribbean sea.

Hope you don't mind my commenting but definitely the second print is much more appropriate for an evening wedding. Color is gorgeous and you can add a great necklace or bracelets and some strappy heels and you will be good to go. I agree with you that the first dress is a super fun print but too day-time to be able to dress it up enough for an evening wedding.
ReplyDeleteLove this color on you! Fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI love that white top too Erin!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to steal that picture I loved it so much! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa! I actually rented a scooter on day 2, but one of those golf cart kinds so I could put my luggage in it. I wore shorts for that day, much more comfy for that kind of travel. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Valerie! I love both of these dresses, but I vote for #2. Way cute and perfect for an evening wedding!! You could do the first dress, but you are going to have to majorly accessorize - fancy shoes, a big statement necklace, and that kind of flowy shape says "beach" so I would also belt it and give it some structure. Let us know what you decide! (feel free to post a picture to my FB page!)
ReplyDeleteAwesome, I look forward to getting your entry! And yes Bella is my little baby girl, we are like two peas in a pod. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis outfit looks like it was meant for Key West! Love it. I prefer to sightsee in shorts/capris myself so I'd prob wear this same outfit but with blue shorts instead!
ReplyDeleteI love how Bella travelled with you. :) I actually bought some of that doggie yogurt for my Harlee yesterday...she loved it!!
Outfit reminds me of my trip to Hawaii last week! Also the ocean with the blue hues- Loving the look! Seems like you had fun in Key West! Aaaand Bella is adorable =)

great fashions, how did you get into the fashion blogging business?
ReplyDeleteThank you Meg! :-) Key West was funny - really dog friendly in some ways, and really not in others. Bella seemed to love every minute of it, and although I never actually bought her any doggie yogurt, she did a table scrap or two which NEVER happens at home. Bella sends Harlee doggie kisses!
ReplyDeletePlease see my About section for my story! :-) http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/p/about.html
ReplyDeleteOh my god, I'm stunned. This is such a beautiful look. You should wear blue tops like the one above more often, they really flatter you. The clutch goes perfect with the entire outfit. It's definetely a killer look. For some reason, I always think silver jewelry goes pretty good with blue so this is what I would have added if I wore this look. Anyway, nice job! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove the all aqua blue outfit!

Am I right that you want a fall look for your guest spots as you did last year?
ReplyDeleteWhoops, that is the only change from last year. I'll be gone July 21-Aug 2, so summer looks would be perfect! Thank you Leslie!
ReplyDeletei loved the blue outfit..thats perfect for any place closer to the ocean. I was in Key west last month and i did go the 'shorts n tee' way..its the perfect ensemble to beat the heat in the keys. i did go less on accessorizing though 'coz of the hot n humid weather.. just a pair of earrings n tiered necklace.
ReplyDeleteUm, updated workout routine, please. Your legs = ridic. If you say genetics, I will cry. Spill your secrets, girl! : )
ReplyDeleteDarling outfit, too!
I love this outfit! Blue looks wonderful on you!! and your dog is ADORABLE! lol
ReplyDeleteI will be sending in a request to be one of your 15 very soon!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my blog: www.styleonabudgetca.blogspot.com
Thanks!

I love the outfit. I must ask - where are you going in Africa? You will have an amazing time. I have been to East Africa twice (once to Uganda, the second time to Kenya). The people are absolutely incredible! Have fun and be safe :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the feedback guys! I guess that settles it - going with the blue dress!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lana! I'm going to Sierra Leone, to serve in an orphanage with my church.
ReplyDeleteThank you! At the risk of being "that girl," I have totally fallen off the workout bandwagon. :-( I can't motivate myself to to go the gym more than once maybe twice a week for the past 6 months. I'm really hoping to get back soon, but my mom certainly has great legs + I think wearing heels helps tone your legs, too! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Mandy! Bella says thank you, too. ;-)
ReplyDeletelove this outfit; it is absolutely cute and sweet!
ReplyDeleteSmile On:)...Classy Pam

I love the colors! So vibrant and it looks great with your skin coloring. I have the same clutch but in orange...I got it for a dirt cheap price too. Don't you just love it when you find an awesome deal? My problem is...I find too many awesome deals and don't know how to say no.
ReplyDelete'Love the beautiful Key West scenery............ 'love your absolutely *s.t.r.i.k.i.n.g.* blue outfit that you put together............ 'love seeing *cute* little Bella with you in a post again............ and 'love Bella's fashionable - (Bella-sized!!) - turquoise Statement Necklace//ID Tag (?), too!!
ReplyDeleteYou're like Kate Moss~~or some of the other supermodels~~J., i.e., as time passes by............ you're simply getting MORE stylish & beautiful!! Between them, these two links, (directly Below), have #3 pictures that were taken in London on June 7th, 2012, of Daphne Selfe----an 83-year-old (lifelong) British supermodel----who is ALSO in a *s.t.r.i.k.i.n.g.* blue outfit, too, (i.e., by Fanny Karst that's made to order; printed; fitted; and finished by hand)............ and this is what YOU'LL probably be fortunate enough to look like, TOO, J. ............ in *55* years!!:

That's a really fantastic top. It's so light!
ReplyDeleteThese colors are so cool together. I love getting your e-mails each day. They've helped me wear ALL the clothes and shoes in my closet.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rosanna! That little bit of blue on Bella is actually my cocktail ring sticking out, lol. And oh my goodness I love Daphne's outfit! I definitely hope to be that stylish in my 80's, she looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYou look great! I got married in Key West and love it! But, I have to say, Bella steals the show!! If you don't mind my asking, what kind of dog is she?
ReplyDeleteI totally agree - she is the cutest thing ever. ;-) She is a Shorkie - a Shih Tzu and Yorkie mix.
