Today I'm taking a break from my own closet to do a little trying-on session! These are all clothes from one of my favorite online boutiques, Modern Vintage Boutique. Everything is really affordable, and I had so much fun trying it all on. Check out the captions to find out which item I loved the most and tell me - which one is your favorite?
Striped dress, $49
Turquoise necklace, $32
White straw wedge, $49
I loved this striped dress, especially the cut-out back! I was excited about the length, and you can just barely see a shorter slip showing underneath. I was also "pumped" (bad pun) about these shoes; they went with absolutely everything!
I dig these cute dresses with cut-out shoulder details. Looks great with a blazer and a colorful belt, but I also love the brown belt it comes with (right). The length was a tad short, so I might size up on these!
Yellow blazer, $49
Turquoise dress, $48
Pink dress with belt, $48
Turquoise necklace, $32
White straw wedge, $49
This dress was my favorite! The fabric is somewhat sheer, but the loose fit keeps you from being able to see anything you shouldn't. It could do double duty for a nice dinner and as a beach coverup.
Turquoise necklace, $32
White straw wedge, $49
Turquoise top, $42
Yellow top, $42
White shorts (my own)
White straw wedge, $49
Turquoise necklace, $32
* Everything I'm wearing from the boutique was borrowed (not my own), and is a size Small. This post is brought to you by Modern Vintage Boutique, however all editorial choices and opinions are my own. ;-)
i love all of the looks, you look adorable!

I love the turquoise dress with the yellow blazer!! So Cute!
ReplyDeletelove all of these colors - that dress is just fabulous, might need to snatch that up!!!

The pink dress is my favorite. Perfect color and I love the rounded hem!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! The white dress is my absolute favorite! It is so flattering on you and the way you styled it is perfection! The belt and shoes go perfect with the dress.
ReplyDeleteThe dresses with the cut out shoulders are a little too colorful for my taste. For example, I think the blue dress would look a lot nicer if you skipped the belt and chose a white blazer instead of the yellow one. But that's just me, I think a little pop of color is great when paired with lots of neutrals and not so much color.
The first dress, although it's a little out there, is great, too. I love the cut out in the back and it looks great on you. The necklace was a good choice as well.
Anyway, the white dress is the best look. You should so buy it ;-) Or have you already?
White dress is hands down my favorite of the choices. super effortless look but super chic and flirty!
ReplyDeleteGreat question Amanda, I will ask!
ReplyDeleteLove the pieces! They look great on you!

The white dress is STUNNING. I hope you snatched that one up! So J-LO!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the first one! It is so cute!!
ReplyDeleteI love the orange stripe dress! So fun for the summer.
ReplyDeleteI have been on the hunt for a yellow blazer. The website does not describe the fabric. It looks like linen?

Love those shoes as well! Great collection. I have that peek-a-boo shoulder dress in black and the belt it comes with is great, it goes with everything!
ReplyDeleteIt's 60% Ramie, 40% cotton. Looks and feels almost like a thin linen.
ReplyDeleteIs there by any chance a discount code their offering if we order any of the items? I noticed there was no phone number to call and inquire about it. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI am swooning over the turquoise and yellow top! Oh my, I may need to purchase these! The white dress looks fantastic on you with your olive skin also... <3

love these outfits!!! great post
ReplyDeleteI just got ahold of her! ;)
ReplyDeleteim going to that shop now! love all these outfits! and i love the shoes!!!
ReplyDeleteJust a suggestion... Perhaps you should pull the sheet behind you tighter so that there aren't any wrinkles in it. It's a little distracting in your photos.
ReplyDeletein LOVE with that necklace, love how you mixed it with so many bright colors. Reminds me of the JCrew bubble necklace but more wearable since it's a bit smaller.

Love the white dress! It's my favorite as well. The sleeves are great and it looks fab with the accessories you chose!
ReplyDeleteThe necklace is out of stock :(
ReplyDeleteGreat question about the discount for readers! I utterly ADORE the striped dress. All outfits are very cute, and the accessories are perfect. But I can't stop looking at that dress!
ReplyDeletestunning colours
ReplyDeleteCute outfits!! To get a reference for size, how tall are you? Also, is Modern Vintage Boutique offering a discount to your readers? I'm not sure if I missed a promo code. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a random question- when you are wearing multiple bracelets with your watch, do they scratch the watch?
ReplyDeleteeverything here is so cute, a classic set of staples!
ReplyDeletekw, ladiesinnavy
I see a shadow on the striped dress - is is lined or are you having to wear a slip? Very cute stuff.
ReplyDeleteThe photo on the website looks different than yours. How long is the top portion of the 2-fer?
ReplyDeleteHi J, what kind of fabric are this dresses? and the shirts? i loooove those colors!
ReplyDeleteYou always know what colors to pair together & really make your accessories pop! The striped dress is our favorite! For more fresh, affordable looks, check out our store site: www.ladiesoutfitters.com!
ReplyDeleteDo you typically wear slips under jersey fabric dresses? I have been looking for a solution to avoid VPL but haven't tried slips (they seem very old fashioned to me). Also, are there any fabrics or brands that I should look for when buying a slip? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThose shoes! Love them so much. My fave is the striped dress but all look great!
ReplyDeletewww.classywithakick.com
All of these dresses are so cute! Off to go look at the website!

ReplyDeleteCarly, I don't own any slips at the moment but I was actually just thinking about buying one the other day. I tend to just stay away from any dress tight enough that there would be a VPL situation. I also found some lace tanga underwear at Victoria's Secret that lay really flat on your bum, so I use those if I wear something that is borderline VPL. I'll be sure to share the info if I wind up doing some slip research though!
ReplyDeleteNicki, no I've never had my bracelets scrape my watch! The bottom/inside of my wrist is a little scratched from me resting my hands on tables, my desk, etc. though.
ReplyDeleteThanks Becky! I'm 5'7" and you can use code Happy10 to get 10% off!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kris! You can use code Happy10 and get 10% off.
ReplyDeleteYay, glad you were able to get ahold of her. Everyone else - you can use code Happy10 and get 10% off.
ReplyDeleteAmanda, you can use code Happy10 and get 10% off.
ReplyDeleteThe first dress with the cut out back is adorable! I also really like the tops, they can be dressed up or down easily.

I'm obsessed with the first dress! The cut out back is sooooo cute. I want it!
ReplyDeleteI love the turquoise and pink dresses! The turquoise dress with the yellow blazer would be super cute to wear to class or a chapter meeting!
ReplyDeleteThe white one is also my favorite - it can be worn many different ways and for different occasions (except weddings...which is sad since I always try to buy dresses I can wear to go all the weddings this summer!)
ReplyDeletethe striped dress is so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you J about the white dress. That whole ensemble is just perfect. I think the orange dress with the stripes wins it for me though. The angled stripes are fun and flattering, and the orange with the turquoise is just perfectly fun!
ReplyDeleteJ what is the brand of that orange striped dress? So cute!
ReplyDeleteThe white dress is to die for. You have a lot of varieties here that helps me be inspired, I love your posts!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.stylelifefashion.com
The tag says "Eunishop."
ReplyDeleteRomina, the shirts are polyester. Most of the dresses are a poly/cotton blend.
ReplyDeleteAndi, no that is part of the dress. That's what I was trying to explain in my review - you can see the shorter piece inside ever so slightly.
ReplyDeleteI tried to measure it (I'm sending the box back tomorrow) and the orange part appears to be about 15 inches.
ReplyDeleteNice short skirts over there, here got apparel has some nice kinds of ladies shorts skirts are in wholesale rate to shop http://www.gotapparel.com/
ReplyDeleteAlthough I really like the tangerine-and-white-with-turquoise color combination of the striped dress............ (and also, by the way, your orange-red dress and bright blue cardigan of 5/28/12; plus your orange-red skirt and Caribbean blue shirt of 6/12/12, too!!)............ the white dress with the cognac belt is simply *s.t.u.n.n.i.n.g.* on you!!
ReplyDeleteI just love how you've styled the white dress here; and............ with it actually being kind of a "BLANK white canvas"............ if you ever buy a solid white (or Winter white) dress with sleeves............ YOU'D probably............ with your a.m.a.z.i.n.g. creativity/ingenuity, J. ............ be able to style it in 100+ (or so) ways, for sure!!
I totally missed you discussing it when I skimmed through.
ReplyDeleteWhile you obviously look STUNNING in the white dress, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the first photo with the striped dress. I would love to own that!! It's great for summer and has unique accents (such as the twisted back) to really stand out.
ReplyDeleteNo worries! That part was hard to explain! I don't think I've ever seen a dress with a shorter lining inside like that.
ReplyDeleteWhat are your bracelets made out of? I just got a really nice Marc Jacobs watch, and I really want to wear bracelets on the same wrist. The first day I wore my watch the bracelet I had on scratched the knob used to change the time. I am very sad and confused. Is there suggestions or tricks to what types of bracelets to wear to not scratch the watch? Or I do I just have really bad luck?
ReplyDeleteI like a whole bunch of things on their website, but they are all out of stock! Boo!
ReplyDeleteI think there was a bit of a shopping frenzy yesterday Irene! They will be re-stocking soon! :-)
ReplyDeleteNicki, I'm not sure if it is what the bracelets are made of, or what the watch is made of? I wear pretty much all of the same Stella & Dot bracelets everyday. Not sure the exact kind of metal, but you can see them in my daily posts (I link to them in the caption). Nothing crazy heavy, not sure if the weight of the bracelets has something to do with it, too?
ReplyDeleteI love them all!! How tall are you? I am 6'1" and feel like most of those dresses would be way too short on me :(
ReplyDeleteThanks Alyson! I'm 5'7".
ReplyDeleteOh, thanks! I'll check back soon then. How long is that discount valid for?
ReplyDeletelove love love that white dress! adorable
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the tangerine striped dress! So, so, so cute!
ReplyDeleteI am surprised you would provide a review to a company with such a dubious reputation. Their products are made in China with the least amount of quality. I recently ordered 3 sweaters online and couldn't be more dissatisfied with the products. All 3 sweaters had discolored threads, dust and hair on the clothing and holes in the sweaters. One sweater was so thinly made; you could take a picture through the clothing. Buyer be aware of this company.
