Today's Everyday Fashion: Python
I love the mix of military and python trends in this inspiration photo. I don't have a python skirt, so I pulled out my python shirt instead. I paired it with silky pleated shorts I picked up last summer, and a bit of serious neck bling in place of her ornate belt. I like this kind of classy but sexy night out look as an alternative to mini skirts or jeans and a dressy top. I might switch out the clutch for a brown or nude color, but overall I think this one is a win. Would you wear either of these looks for a night out?

I would def. wear this look for a night out. It's very sexy but comfy, too. The shoes are amazing! And I also like the clutch you chose. But a nude one would be great as well.
ReplyDeleteI have to say I've found your website through the Lauren Conrad Blogger Contest and I check it out every day ever since. I really like that you do post EVERY day, which is awesome!
Love your look and the inspiration too! I don't own any snake print but I guess you could rework something else to get the general feel of the look.x
ReplyDeleteOh sweetie, I hate snakes! Not crazy about the fad. You, however, look great. I'm wearing shorts for date night tonight. White with a soft coral top, gold sandals. Told hubby we need to have official date nights and dress up. Easy to get overly casual in this hot weather. Love ya.
ReplyDeletehow could anybody on earth have such great legs???? :-) yes, i KNOW that it's mainly thanked to good genetics. and I read that old post that you're running, But please, tell us what else you do -if you do- /exercises or any other sport/ to have such perfectly-shaped legs!
ReplyDeleteThe python shirt and the heels are amazing! ♥
ReplyDeleteI love this look for a date night instead of wearing a skirt! Love python print and think your shirt is very classy! I love the material of your shorts too! They look comfortable, yet so chic! I myself, would probably switch the clutch to a black one and also add a black belt to really complete the look, but that is just me. I envision a black chain belt with gold chain mixed in with it. Do you know what belts I am talking about? Then you would have to change the necklace though, so a black skinny belt is probably easier! The Anne Klein python shirt you recommend, is amazing! I may just have to get that! Have a great weekend!

I think that looks super cute on you! I love seeing different silhouettes for nights out, I get in such a skinny jeans, heels and top rut. I feel a little self conscious in shorts, but maybe I could push past that at night time... Thanks!
ReplyDeletei am loving this look on you! you have such a diverse eye for fashion :) i love it!
ReplyDeleteI love how you can interpret your inspirations into looks from your own closet. This is a unique skill. Have you ever thought about publishing a book?
ReplyDeletePip, this is too funny because I have a black belt with gold chain mixed in! :-) I tried it and it was way "too much," even without the necklace. I don't have a skinny black belt, and a skinny gold belt looked funny so I went with neck bling instead. Love your suggestions!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree - her skirt could be just a neutral print and not python if you squint. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Lena! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh my this makes me blush. I promise I don't have a secret leg trick I'm keeping from you guys - I would share it!! :-) I honestly think wearing heels tones your legs a bit and beyond that I'm just doing my regular workouts about 3 times a week - a 3 mile run, the elliptical and an Insanity video.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a rich look! I love everything you did here, and the necklace really completes your look. A real winner!!!
ReplyDeleteThat blouse is so cute and love the heels! :)
ReplyDeleteI really like how you styled your shorts! I am trying to incorporate shorts into my wardrobe and this is a great styling tip!

Can't handle the python--snakeophobia big time! I found the cutest pair of sling back pumps in a pink faux-python leather and ALMOST tried them on, but I just couldn't put them on my foot. Not for me!
ReplyDeleteGreat look! I would totally try the python look.

You have amazing legs!
ReplyDeletegreat inspiration and great outcome on you! i really like it.
ReplyDeletecheers.
I like your final outfit much better. I'd def wear it!
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful! Love all the cute
outfits so many great colors and styles!
This look is just so pretty/eye-catching with your *yellow* clutch!! I wonder if the different tones of rich brown in your shirt might also look good with either a solid-colored, NON-neutral skirt or pair of jeans/pants, too?............ (e.g., you know, all of those colors that typically and historically "go with" chocolate brown, except~~in this case~~it would be a chocolate brown "PYTHON" print!!)
ReplyDeleteI also REALLY like the "crew neckline and banded/buttoned Henley placket" of your shirt, i.e., instead of all the "point collars" in the Inspiration Photo, and in the other three examples of python-print shirts. A sleek crew neckline with a banded/buttoned Henley placket just seems so much more *polished* to me, (for some reason)!!
I love it!1 I just went python crazy today at Walmart! :)
