I took my new pink jeans out for a spin yesterday. I wore this first look to church and a meeting. The bottom look is what I originally put together - going loosely off the photo I snapped at J.Crew with my phone. I wasn't in the mood for a print when I woke up, so I subbed in an ivory silk blouse for a softer look. Which outfit is your favorite?

Your looks are always so effortless! I love the pink skinnies, just wish I could pull them off too! Im loving the print top with the jeans a bit more :)
ReplyDeleteI love the soft look in the top photo most and would where it lots of places. I like the bottom one with the printed shirt too but can only picture me wearing it on a casual office day or happy hour with work friends.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a huge fan of the print top - I think the ivory top is much classier and looks more put together. Love the pink skinnies and looking forward to see you wear them more. I have a cropped pair from ON...
ReplyDeleteThe top look is my favourite b/c I love pink/white combos, for example pink top with white jeans or vice versa like your outfit; the bottom outfit also look nice, I will look closely for your outfits with these jeans as I have similar color dress pants and need ideas of what to wear them with, as I think they definitely look best paired with white! And another thing - (I've already asked you for ideas concerning those pants, last year) I have them for a long time now, 7 years I guess, I wore them much more in the first 2-3 years b/c that color was IN, after that not so much even though pink is my fav. color... partly b/c color was too "loud"... partly not having enough ideas on tops and shoes to wear them with... (wore pink or white shoes with them, at the end of last summer I bought nude open toe slingback pumps so I have more ways to wear them now) This year ALL colors are IN, there are "loud" pinks and fuchsia everywhere so I'm so glad I hold on to those pants... :)
ReplyDeleteI love both looks! You got me hooked on colored jeans now, so everytime I go shopping I am obsessed with buying some! I've tried a few on, but they don't look as fabulous on me as they do you.....haha! :P
ReplyDeleteI like the first outfit better--the second one is fun, but sometimes I think simpler is best.
ReplyDeleteI actually just bought a pair of pale pink jeans, so this has given me some good inspiration! I didn't want to spend a ton on such a trendy look so I found mine on sale and I feel like the waist height is veering on "mom jean"ish...I'm glad you showed some good non-tucked in inspiration looks! :)
yeah i love the ivory top best, too!! i am loving this look, girl!!
ReplyDeleteI love the shirt in the second picture! It is so cute and looks so good with your jeans! Love the nude shoes with both looks too! xx

think I prefer the one you went with but that necklace in the original shot is wonderful!x

I like the first look, for the simple reason that it places the focus on the jeans. The printed top is competing for attention with the jeans.
ReplyDeleteColors that can only be worn in CA and FL ---- people would think you are a paradise flower up here in Maine (too bad).
ReplyDeleteI bought the same pair of jeans recently from The Limited and they have quickly become my favorite pair! I just love the fit on them and it's so hard for me to find jeans that fit!
ReplyDeletelove the first look. soft. colorful and yet understated!
ReplyDeleteLike others, I like the white blouse best with the pink skinnies. However, the necklace pops against the dark printed top, so I suppose it depends on what you want to feature.
ReplyDeleteI would love to make these jeans a little more appropriate for up north - look for it this fall/winter! :-)
ReplyDeleteThese jeans are listed at $74.90, how'd you get them for $30?!?
ReplyDeleteLove that you kept the pants! I have that happen to me a lot too - I'm the ultimate pack rat and sometimes (although not always) that pays off!
ReplyDeleteSamantha, here's a link to my May budget post that tells you everything I bought and why. I talk about the jeans in this post, and share that I used a coupon in the store to get them 50% off! :-) http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2012/05/my-may-budget.html
ReplyDeleteLove the first look! It's the perfect outfit for church or a lunch out! I'm from Ohio and I rock the colored skinnies trend...the Nordstrom juniors section has a wide range of colors for cheap (for anyone looking)! Now I just need this pink pair. :)
ReplyDeleteP.s. Could I wear these in the winter?
absolutely LOVE the first look! so pretty and feminine! : )

love the top look the best - I've been trying to figure out how to use my pink skinnies in a way that don't make me look "too little girl" - this is awesome!

I like the second one for dinner/drinks out in the evening, but the first one for daytime. Both are super cute! I really need some nude pumps.
ReplyDeletethe necklace with the print top looks amazing. i don't like it really with the ruffled to- top busy. fab jeans!
ReplyDeletei found your blog through pinterest, and i'm in love. thank you so much for breaking down fashion and making it easy for someone like me. i've had 2 babies within 2 years, and am pretty much starting my wardrobe over. not only that, but i get stressed out when it comes to shopping. so finding your blog has made it so much easier for me. thank you.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the white top the best, it is a nice soft contrast against those ADORABLE jeans! LOVE it girl! pippa

I like both looks a lot, I actually had a hard time deciding which one I like better. So I guess the first look is really great for day time, more church-apropriate. I would see myself wearing it if I was meeting my boyfriends parents for the first time for example. It's a femine and pretty look. The second one is bold and really great for night time. I could see myself wearing it out on a date. I wouldn't think that a printed top like the one you're wearing in the second photo works with these jeans, but it actually does. If I had to choose something to wear with bright colored jeans, it would be a solid white, grey or nude tee so I'm really surprised it works with the print so well, too. And the necklace is just perfection. :-)
ReplyDeleteI was worried I was the only one on "team 2". I love them both and would wear for day time, but I like the 2nd one just a smidge better than the first.
ReplyDeletegorgeous! I can't decide! i love them both!

Love BOTH looks! I am actually wearing the same pink pants today. LOVE them!!

I like the patterned shirt more, only because I don't think the ruffles work well with the necklace. If the white shirt had been not ruffled, I would have liked that look more. Its all about playing with what you have and finding what works and what doesn't.
ReplyDeleteI love love the first look, although both are super cute! I was so excited to see this outfit today as I picked up a pair of bright pink shorts at Target over the weekend. Now I can't wait to see what else you pair with these skinnies! Thank you for the ideas! Your blog is deeply appreciated!
ReplyDeleteI love both looks! I wear pink a lot. I'm looking for pink shorts - any tips?
ReplyDeleteHere is one option for ya! :-) Old Navy also has a cute pair. http://www.shopstyle.com/action/apiVisitRetailer?id=340717437&pid=uid2641-1460879-79
ReplyDeletewow what a quick reply! haha thanks!!
ReplyDeleteYou caught me at my computer. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am new to your blog (found it through pinterest). I love it! You have inspired me to make more of my wardrobe and think outside of the box. This outfit is my absolute favorite of all I have seen. You look stunning in it!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love your blog! You always have the cutest outfits. The pants are such a vibrant shade of pink in your picture. Are they the pink Forenza 678 skinnies? :)
ReplyDeleteThe top look is my favorite but they're both amazing! I just ordered that necklace from J. Crew in turquoise and I can't wait for it to arrive!! I think I need to get myself some pink jeans too!

Tiffany, thanks so much for your note! Welcome to the blog and I'm so happy you like it! :-)
ReplyDeleteLydia, I'm hoping to wear them in the winter for sure! Florida winters are really sunny, so maybe not quite the same. But regardless I'll be sporting them during those winter months for sure.
ReplyDeleteI really like the top look! I feel like the soft blouse allows the jeans to stand out.

I really, really like *b.o.t.h.* outfits a lot!! If it were possible to do, I'd personally just opt to switch the FABRIC of your ivory silk blouse *to* the STYLE of your floral print top, because I think that particular, more-covered, "CAP-sleeved style" would look really nice for work; organizational meetings; and church, too............ plus, in the daytime sun, just a little bit more arm-coverage, (i.e., because I'm at *risk* for skin cancer), has been something that I've personally/*very-reluctantly*............ had to "get used to" during the day, you know!!
ReplyDeleteAlternately, I'd also personally just opt to switch the FABRIC of your floral print top *to* the STYLE of your ivory silk blouse, because I think
that particular "BARE-er sleeveless style" would really look *striking*
going out, (with a clutch!!), for drinks and/or dinner............ particularly with the DARKER, pleated-bodice background of your sleeveless print top *highlighting* your
PALE pink statement necklace............ UNDER low lights and/or
candlelight!! (*R.o.m.a.n.t.i.c.*, huh??!!)
Your blog is so adorable and inspiring. I found it on Pinterest. Because in Germany we are some months behind (not behind the moon but lasier to catch trends so early) I can see, what will happen in future. Tuesdays a I am afraid what to wear on my 2 office days (working mom in part time) hence I have some overweight after giving birth las year. Beeing overweight in summer (starting right now here) is a burden. What to wear, keeping legs like bridge stands and arms like legs covered but beeing modern and trendy on the other hand? Perhaps this could be a theme for your inspiring post the other day? Would be very thankful. Greets from Germany, Claudia
ReplyDeleteThey are both great J! I love the softness of the ivory blouse and the strength of the dark blue florals with the pink jeans. Really, both are a hit!
ReplyDeleteLove the new pink jeans. The first look is definitely my favorite. I'm not a fan of the second, but that's just me.
ReplyDeleteEveryone feels differently about fashion - the fact that there are ruffles and the necklace overlaps is actually my favorite part! :-)
ReplyDeletepink jeans look fantastic on you!!
ReplyDeleteEveryone has different tastes so I can appreciate that what I like you may not like and vice versa :)
ReplyDeletelove the colour combination!
Love those pink pants!

Okay, I just found you on Pinterest and am looking over your posts. It looks like you are saying the cost of these jeans are $40, but when I click on the link to Limited it says they are $74.99! Quite a difference! Am I reading it wrong? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Heather and welcome to the blog! :-) The prices listed are what I paid for them. I used a 50% off coupon in the store for these jeans, as per my budget post here: http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2012/05/my-may-budget.html. Hope this helps!
ReplyDeleteThank you Claudia and welcome to the blog! :-)
ReplyDeleteI like both of the looks!
ReplyDeleteJust bought hot pink pants from JCrew for $20!! Of course I am surfing your blog for different ideas on "how" to wear them. :) So far I wore them with a grey top, bright green scarf and brown boots. interesting combo! Thanks for all your posts...
