I love mixing silver and gold! I credit J.Crew for the inspiration behind this particular outfit, though. I loved the idea of throwing a gold sequin top under my silver sequin jacket. I think this look is perfect for a work party or even a wedding event, and would suit pretty much any age - from 20's to 80's! Do you like mixing silver and gold?

ReplyDeleteI love mixing silver and gold together as well! It looks so classic together. Cute outfit, love it with the pink skirt
ReplyDeleteI've never actually mixed silver and gold, but it looks great! Those shoes are fantastic, too - I feel like you find the best stuff on that website. I need to check it more consistently.

Hi J! I love your blog and easy to wear styling ideas. J.Crew turned me on to metal mixing too and now I do it all the time. I think your outfit looks great! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter! :)
I never considered mixing silver and gold but you pull it off very well. I own several pieces like yours and I'll have to try it out! Thanks for the great ideas =)
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of mixing silver and gold but I feel like the look can get easily muddled.

I just love how the *darker* color of your sequin jack ECHOES the *darker* color of your sandals' toe-strap/sole/heel-back............ and how the *lighter* color of your sequin top ECHOES the *lighter* color of your sandals' metallic ankle-strap/metallic heel!!
ReplyDeleteAdditionally, your "L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in Golden Splendor #805," (as in your 5-Minute Makeup Routine Video----( http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2010/12/video-my-5-minute-makeup-routine.html )----always seems to very subtly/nicely "pick up" any colors that you're wearing, e.g., like the pink of your pretty skirt here............ or, among other colors, the coral when you wear coral items, too!!, (e.g., http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2012/03/todays-everyday-fashion-blazer.html ). That lovely shade of lipcolor is just so versatile; and it really seems to give a very polished "finish" to all of your outfits, J.!!
Love this! Sequins will always be my favorite!

Yay! Love this little jacket, and I think I'm going to take the plunge and get it! But let me ask- how is the sizing, J? Didn't know if was true to size??
ReplyDeleteThanks Lindsey! The sizing is true to size - I got an XS. Also, just a heads up that in person, the jacket has unfinished hems so it frays. I think it's part of the design/appeal, and you can easily trim off the longer pieces - it's just hard to tell in the photo so I don't want you to be disappointed! I personally love the unfinished hems!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rosanna! That is definitely my go-to shade and I wear it everyday. I've also gotten at least 3 other friends hooked on it! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the double sequin with the bright happy pink!
