I gotta admit, I'm pretty excited about my first outfit post inspired by Pinterest! I re-pinned this outfit a few weeks ago and really wanted to give it a try with my clothes. I flipped the inspiration outfit by mixing a lace shirt and polka dot skirt, and finished it off with my favorite new "minimalist" shoes. The result is one of my personal favorites! I think this outfit could work for so many ages (from 20 to 60) and different occasions (some offices, an office party, or even a night out). Would you wear lace + polka dots?

Cannot believe that shirt is from Charlotte Russe! I've been looking for one similar, but all the affordable options look too cheap. Love how you paired it with the polka dots - very cute!
ReplyDeleteLove those shoes! They look like Blair's Tory Burch shoes on atlantic-pacific.

I love finding outfit photos on Pinterest. I save them to my phone so that I can pull them up in the morning and have some ideas of what to put together. I could have sworn those shoes were from Zara - love them!
ReplyDeleteI usually don't feel comfortable in ultra-feminine clothing pieces, but I love love love that top. Do you think you could wear it with dark, skinny jeans and heels? What suggestions would you have for wearing it with pants? (I'd have to give it a little bit of an edge or I'd just feel too girly which I don't think I can pull off! I'm an alpha male in a petite, girly girl body.)
ReplyDeleteI love it. I would def mix the two! I love how you put that outfit together.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being one of the Fab 5 in the LC contest!
Cheers.
I love this so much! Great combo, and you look amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love Pinterest and re-pinning! LOL! This outfit is so nice! I love the lace and polka dot combination! It is gorgeous, and I love your shoes with the outfit! They are so classy! I also love that inspiration photo! xx

Thank you! And I had no idea about the contest - thanks for the heads up!!
ReplyDeleteYes, Zara is where I got my inspiration to buy these shoes! (I love that you caught that!) I was drooling over the ones in the store a few months back so I snapped these up the minute I saw them online! :-)
ReplyDeleteI was inspired to buy them from similar ones I saw at Zara! :-) (see comment above)
ReplyDeleteMe either. I don't think I own a single other piece of clothing from C. Russe, but this shirt looks WAY more expensive than it is, one of my favorite items in my closet!
ReplyDeleteLOOVEEE!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Tanvi! Great seeing you yesterday!!
ReplyDeleteTina, yes I think this top would look great with skinny jeans! I love mixing super-feminine with masculine pieces, so I actually put this top with ripped skinny jeans and an army jacket here, you might like: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=201026083256469&set=a.163483153677429.45093.120030604689351&type=3&theater I also think they would look great with a dark wash! I def think you can pull a top like this off even if you aren't wanting to be too girlie.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be able to follow you on Pinterest... Is it under J's Everyday Fashion?
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! Can't beat lace and polka dots :) What great inspiration!

That picture is from Nordstrom's catalogue.. it's Haute Hippie. I fell in love with it also, but each piece of that outfit is about $300. SO EXPENSIVE. Your spin is helpful, and so cute!
ReplyDeletelove!! what are your thoughts on the lace shorts? I think they are adorable, but am wondering where I could find them cheaper than $225!
ReplyDeleteadore those tops and like you adore pinterest! White lace is getting so big in london town too!
ReplyDeleteNot sure if I'd be brave enough to wear polka dots and lace... maybe a lace top and blazer with a polka dot lining...

Love it! Quick question - (sorry if you've answered this one before) - how do you feel about the sizing of your skirt? True to size? I've never bought a skirt from BR, but want that one - only problem was in store they don't have my size, but they can order it from another store. I just don't know which to go with. (I wear a 2 at the Limited, and fluctuate at the Loft).
ReplyDeleteI love how you took the inspiration and gave it your own twist! polka dots and lace looks adorable, love it!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations J on the Lauren Conrad Contest!!
