Sunday afternoon was spent on an exciting little project - a photo shoot with BRINK magazine! I'm working on another men's makeover feature with them (see last year's here), and this is what I wore. I recently picked up this silk mini and was excited to wear it (it has specs of electric blue in it = love). The skirt is true to size (I got an XS, in case you are looking to order it), and was even a little big so I used an elastic belt to get a perfect fit. It was a fun afternoon and I'm already looking forward to more ways to wear this skirt, including some flats and a tank this spring!

Love the skirt! The mustard shirt works great with it - as will any other shirt. So many options. Chambray, cobalt, white, blush....I love skirts that have tons of pairing options.

You do the best job of seeing potential in the items at MJRSales! Every time you link to something there I go look at it and think, "Wow, I don't know if would have ever thought to buy that and wear it that way!"
ReplyDeleteLove the yellow blouses. You look so tan!

Ohh that skirt is so cute! I'm always on the lookout for a good mini! And love how you paired that silky shirt with it! I can definitely envision a more dressed-down version for summer too!
ReplyDeleteA previous outfit of yours inspired my look for today. I really enjoy your blog and thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeletelove your look today! and congrats on the new show.x
ReplyDeleteYour legs look GOOD girl! I love that skirt, I knew it'd be from Loft :) also love the look in pic #1 with the ASOS blouse! I often don't buy flowy blouses because I'm not sure what I'd wear them with but those high waisted shorts are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic skirt! All the colors, possibilities are endless. I'm the same height as you but there's no way I could pull off a mini - at least bare-legged and that print is begging for wedge sandals!
ReplyDeleteThanks Taylor! I actually wore some nude wedges with this for errands after the photo shoot. I agree that the possibilities are endless!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this look! Especially that skirt - totally stunning!
ReplyDeleteI looooove the Asos yellow blouse. Love your blog. http://www.hotcelebration.com
ReplyDeleteI think your whole outfit............ (with colors of mustard yellow; cognac; burgundy; red-orange; sandstone; orange; white; and specs of electric blue)............ is like a gorgeous *S.U.N.S.E.T.* over the Grand Canyon!!
ReplyDeleteBecause of your lean, slender frame and your great facial structure............ bold Geometric Prints, (e.g., as in your silk mini skirt!!), simply look............ *stunning* on you, J.!!
Cute outfit! Looks like you had fun!

When you say that the mustard blouse is from "Ann Taylor c/o LOFT," does that just mean it's from LOFT?
ReplyDeleteGreat post & awesome blog! Keep up the good work!!!
J- Love the skirt. I really like your blog because you write down how much you pay. This leaves no guessing from the readers......... you find great deals but other times you pay a little more. I like that because I feel like people just say what they get for a good deal and the reader is led to believe they are always getting incredible deals like $2 for something.
ReplyDeleteI also really like your statement about how everyday is a fashion experiment and loved seeing what you viewed as your "failure" outfits. It allowed me to take more risks with fashion, that's ok if its a "failure" and also i can recognize clothes i should buy/wear together better. Thanks :)
Your new studio & flooring look great. I was wondering if you were going to do a "must have/trends for 2012" list i think you did something like that for 2011.
Meghan, thanks for the feedback! I'm so glad you like the blog! :-) I am planning a similar spring 2012 trends post as I've done in the past, but not until later this month!
