I want mustard jeans/pants soooo bad, and this Intermix photo is totally to blame. I'm obsessed with her outfit and am hoping to find some pants just like hers. (I would call the pants I'm wearing camel.) I tried on the LOFT pair (#1 below) recently and loved them, but I think I like the color of the Urban Outfitters pair (#2) just a tad bit more, so we'll see. Until then, I gave this outfit a shot and loved it! This outfit is an odd mix of casual (the t-shirt) and glam (the sequin jacket) but in my opinion, it just works! I would wear this to dinner with friends, or to work if I worked at a magazine. ;-) Do you like mixing casual and glam pieces? Which mustard pants do you like best?

The casual glam look seems to be a trend among many of the style bloggers. I loved that you used a sequined jacket. I like the UO pair best for a more neutral shade of mustard and I can see you wearing them many different ways.

ReplyDeleteTotally agree with Carisa that this is a great idea for people that don't suit the colour near their face. J - you are the master of mustard haha. Not an easy colour to pull off but you do a great job with it :-)
ReplyDeleteI have a sequin jacket and truly have surprised myself how much I've worn it - I like it best w/ ripped jeans to tone it down a bit - I think so long as you don't worry about wearing sequins in the day and just embrace it then they are really quite versatile! I've worn mine day and night incl. to work!x

ReplyDelete.....The jacket arrived yesterday and the seams are all completely unfinished with loose strings hanging and raw edges of fabric. Im not sure if I got a flawed item or if thats the way its supposed to be but its going back. I was so looking forward to that one :_(
ReplyDeleteYes, that's the way it's supposed to be! :-) It has unfinished hems, just like a Chanel jacket. (Ok, not JUSt like a Chanel jacket, but it reminds me of it.) I personally think the jacket looks way better in person than online but sorry to hear you were disappointed!
