Today's Everyday Fashion: Candy Colors
What struck me about this inspiration photo is the pop of black. Pastels are often viewed as summer or spring colors, but I think her look is perfect for a sunny fall day! Of course, when I went to re-create I totally wussed out and couldn't bring myself to wear black shoes (it looked way funny). Nevertheless I'm loving both versions and wearing this is like walking around covered in candy. And who doesn't like candy? Tell me - do you wear candy colors? Does this look make you crave cotton candy?

I love this! It's so fun and colourful and takes away from the normally darker tones of fall. Very refreshing!
ReplyDeleteLove the look! And that pink cardigan is on sale today at Target for 20% + free shipping...woohoo!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun and soft look with all the pale colors. I don't like cotton candy, but I do like this outfit!
ReplyDeleteYou should have tried the outfit with the black shoes and maybe paired it with the black belt. It might not have looked so funny to you if you had matching accessories?
Have you used your last Chinese Laundry groupon yet? I am still trying to decide what to use it on, and I was wondering if you had any suggestions???
ReplyDeleteThanks!
The black looks right on the inspiration photo because of her hair. The brown looks better with your outfit because of *your* hair.
ReplyDeleteUm, I always crave cotton candy. :) I love the look with your brown/cognac accessories!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you Lizy. J great call on the tan shoes!!!

Awesome outfit! Love the blue and pink. Cotton candy colors are so fun but I just realized I don't wear them much. I need to make a change!
ReplyDeleteI love the color of that skirt, it IS like candy! So YUM to that! :)

Wow, J that inspiration photo is breathtakingly beautiful! I'm drooling over her shirt :) But, of course, I love your rendition too! I love that you chose to anchor the pastels down with brown - I just did a similar post by pairing lavender and chocolate to create a Fall-pastel-appropriate look, check it out if you like :)

Agree :-D Also the first thing I thought ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks J! Can't wait to see what you choose!
ReplyDeleteThis look is so pretty and feminine! I don't wear colors like this very often but it looks so cute that maybe I'll try it! I wouldn't have done the black shoes either- they look good on the model but I would have felt like they looked too harsh on me!
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit and especially love the shoes! Do you know if the shoes are still available or at least the name of the shoe...thanks :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Cathy! Unfortunately, I've had these shoes for about 6 years. I bought them at Marshall's so they didn't come with a box, and I've never known the style name.
