I finally bit the bullet and bought a striped cardigan. No idea why this was such an involved purchase for me, but the sweet elbow patches on this one sealed the deal. The result is, in my opinion, the perfect outfit for running errands on a summer day. (That is, if I could get away with wearing long sleeves in Florida without melting!) It's nautical, preppy and comfy. I have a feeling this cardigan is going to be a huge staple for me this fall and it was totally worth the wait. Are striped cardigans a must for you? What purchases have taken you a long time to commit?

gorgeous outfit - makes you look like you're about to sail away on a fancy yacht! =) I could never wear stripes though, they make me look kind of chunky, although I wish I could - a striped top is so chic

Love this outfit! Looks comfy and CUTE! I wish I had your ability to put things together so perfectly!
ReplyDeleteI'm big into cardigans! Yours is great and I did not see it at H&M when I was there last weekend. Or... if I did it didn't catch my eye. Now that I've seen it on you, guess I need to pop back in! I have a turquoise & grey striped cardi from Target that I just had to have. Pattern cardigans are the best for freshening up an existing look. Btw... if I had legs like yours, I'd be wearing shorts every single day... no matter the weather!
ReplyDeleteLove that look! No don't have a striped cardigan...yet!

Oh, this is spot-on, J!!! I think the only way you could look any more like the picture is if you didn't have that gorgeous native american skin-tone :)
ReplyDeleteBut yes, I LOVE stripes and I LOVE cardigans so I think this is a must-purchase for me too! Would love to see a shot of the elbow patches...what a great detail!

I truly love this look on you and think the cardigan was a smart purchase for you because you will be able to wear that many different ways. I see it on you with a red dress underneath. Love it! You look great in the entire outfit. It such a casual yet sophisticated look and one that I definitely want to wear as well now! Hope you are having a good weekend!

This is a perfect weekend outfit! It's very preppy, which I like Stripes are a lot fun and it looks nautical with the navy and white (at least it appears navy?).
ReplyDeleteI found a gray and black striped cardi at Target last fall and it is so comfortable and soft. I wore it a lot last fall and winter with skinnies and black oxfords for a fun weekend look.

I love striped cardigans... I have been looking for more cardigans after reading your blog for sometime now. I havent been very lucky at finding a striped one that I have fallen in love for, but every time I am out and find a well fitting cardi in a great color I have been scooping them up.

I've been thinking about getting a striped cardi too. And, what purchase takes me a long time to commit to? How about EVERY purchase? I'm totally the kind of person who, even though I try it on in the store, will buy something with the intent of taking it home to think about it even more. It makes for lots of returning, but it also keeps me from wasting money since I take so long to decide!
ReplyDeleteI really love this look and I was never one to buy cardigans until I started reading your blog. You've really made cardigans look so fashionable and I never before thought to wear them. Now I'm looking to buy more of them in different colors, and now after this post I need a striped one to add to my collection! :)
ReplyDeleteI love it, its such a cute look :) using collared shirt for casual looks.
