This was one of the first inspiration photos I ever saved, before I started blogging. I stumbled upon it again this week and realized that I finally have all the pieces in my closet to re-create it! I would totally rock this look around town, but to make it even better I might go with another shoe option like loafers or boots (or a more simple sandals like hers). How would you wear this outfit?

Love it! I'm really curious about your belt though. I've read before that you try to stick to real leather. I agree, although I do have my share of fake leather items. Belts seem to be hard to find a good fake though. Is the $18 belt leather? Either way, I like it and think I need to head to H&M!
ReplyDeleteI love anything gray, so of course I love this! A couple weeks ago, I FINALLY found some gray skinnies at Goodwill. I had to play dress up a bit when I came home with them, and I styled them with a black/white striped LOFT sweater (also found at Goodwill) and some black suede wedge loafers. I love your inclusion of brown with your shoes. It's a nice accent color.
ReplyDeleteAnd now I need a gray blazer! I would have never thought to combine gray with cognac, I always pair gray with black tones.
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is so perfect and couldn't come at a better time since I'm on the hunt for some gray skinnies - thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE this outfit! I love the grey mixed with the brown :)
ReplyDeleteI love this look and actually just bought a pair of gray jeans last night. Can't wait until it get a little cooler and I can wear them! xo

I love how the blazer adds a touch of polish to this cute, casual look! It would look really cute with some ankle boots once it gets cooler out!
ReplyDeleteYour outfit is absolutely gorgeous and (like usual) I like it so much more than the inspiration photo! The color palette you chose is so rich and elegant looking yet subdued and very casual; stunning :)

Thanks Julie! H&M is my hot spot for affordable leather belts. I don't mind if the really skinny belts are leather or not, but my thicker belts are always leather - either from H&M or Gap.
ReplyDeleteI like this look a lot. I'm into grey shades and this look would be perfect to wear to work. I'm lucky to be working in a very casual work environment so jeans are def. apropriate. And this is a very stylish version. Love it. I'm gonna re create it soon, since I have a pair of grey jeans just like the ones you're wearing. :-)
ReplyDeleteI really love this. You did the gray and cognac with an outfit you wore in France, I think? It was a gray dress with the cognac boots. Loved it. I have a pair of gray jeans that I forgot all about. Can't wait to get them out this Fall.
ReplyDeleteLove your jeans!! Great shade of gray!
ReplyDeleteKate Moss is my style guru
ReplyDeleteI love gray, it is one of my favorite colors! So this outfit is amazing, the blazer really adds a professional touch! While, the sandals you chose tone it down, and I like the contrast!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteHow do you file your inspiration photos? I am looking to start a system myself.
ReplyDeleteThanks!!
I need to start wearing my suits separated more often, this looks great!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute look, J! I wouldn't usually think to pair brown with gray (I'd reach for black instead), but I love the outcome of this! And I swear, a black and white striped top goes with everything!
ReplyDeleteI love this inspiration photo of Kate and definitely love your look too! I love grey and brown together!

Love this look on you and the inspiration photo. It is so classic and polished. I have a similar top from H&M (if not the same) but have never paired it with my gray blazer. I recently styled it this way: http://coverupchic.blogspot.ca/2012/08/summer-suiting-nautical-preppy.html
ReplyDeleteA grey pair of skinny jeans is on my fall wish list, and will definitely try this look. Thanks! :)
