Today's Everyday Fashion: The Slacker

Today's title has two meanings: 1. I've been a real slacker lately about taking outfit photos so please excuse my insane hair and the fact that I've worn these pants way too much this week. 2. This outfit is so easy, even a fashion slacker can do it! (I'm looking at you, moms with absolutely no time to devote to getting dressed!)

Why this works:
This look is a recipe for looking chic while being a total bum. Start with some skinny cargos, then balance them out with a loose-fitting top (if your cargos are loose, do the opposite and pair them with a tighter shirt). Add a colorful scarf for interest and some nude booties or sandals. Voila! You look chic but feel like you are wearing pajamas. That's a win-win in my book. :-)

  1. This was the perfect post for today! It is cloudy and rainy and I was feeling like having a bum day. But this was great inspiration for an outfit that still looks pulled together! Thanks, J!

  5. When you're wearing those Bad A shoes, no one can call you a slacker! :) Other than you, I suppose. :)

  6. J just wanted to stop by and tell you how much I love your blog. I have made a resolution to not buy a single item of clothing this year. You have inspired me to shop my closet for new outfit ideas. I love this look! This was very similar to my go to outfit last summer. Except I wore boyfriend chinos and sandals
(running after a 2.5 year old is not fun in heels!)

  13. J-thanks for the inspiration. I have all of these items in my closet and wouldn't have thought to put it together like this. This is a great transition outfit for Spring b/c you can easily throw a denim jacket over this for those chilly days.

  15. J, I love your booties....are they still available? If not, have you seen any others recently, at a reasonable price, that you would recommend?

  17. What brand are those cargos? they are so cute. i tried some cargos on at TJ's a while ago and they didn't fit right. Were they in the adult section or the junior section?
